It's a case of once bitten, twice shy though.
Concerts are not cheap these days and only getting more expensive (not to mention the stress in even trying to get tickets AND the covid risk at concerts).
I'd go to a concert by my faves, BUT if it sucked, they lacked oomph, the show was boring etc, even if they were my faves, I wouldn't go again in the future, and tbh, my view of them would be tarnished a bit. Why throw good money at bad?
Hmm there was a post recently on pann about fans unstanning after seeing a group in concert/meeting at a fan sign and I was surprised how many got 7 fans commented on how their concert experience was subpar. This seemed to be due to poorly planned concert/venue but also the performance of the group not meeting expectations. It really dawned on me that some groups do not succeed past a certain level for valid reasons...
Anyway you may have a point here. One would hope SM knows to ensure aespa performs live when it's paying fans at a concert. It's the one thing they can do to compensate if they are not able to dance very well.

Now I think overall they are not as talented idols debuting in 4th gen as in 3rd gen. Stans keep having this fight in anons so decided to bring it out into the open. Let's all vote and put the question to rest. I would say try to be objective - but we know that's not likely... no 1 by default will be BTS given the number of fans on this forum, but I'm interested to see the last ranked. Imo the least talented is en-

In reality none. I cant imagine signing my life away for 7 years.
Back in BTS heyday would have said hybe but now they are debuting talentless idols - I cant sing but would need my members to be talented to achieve big success.
So I guess SM - they take care of you long term so you always have something to do and they seem to go easy on the girls work wise unlike jyp with twice's busy schedules. I'm no mark lee so I would not have to worry about being an ace that gets overworked.
YG - no way in hell. That dude gives me the creeps as a woman. Would not surprise me if the company is revealed as a front for shady business in the future

SooYoung - You are just getting your faves dragged. Instead of drawing attention to their dance skills, you should have written a post titled "Are vocals needed to be a successful kpop group. Is Itzy flopping because there is not a single vocalist among them".
I see midzys in the comments gleeful about Aespa's apparent lack of stage presence but your faves are in bigger trouble - kpopies be talking about how useless Giselle is when she sings better than Lia the supposed main vocalist of Flopzy.

First I would like to say that the song girls by aespa is a banger! Like the song slaps after the 3rd listen.
I did notice while watching the MV that the choreo looked weirdly empty and unexciting. I then clicked on the studio choom performance 30 minutes ago and I have to say - this is the absolute worst choreo I have ever seen in Kpop.
I had to watch it twice to figure out why it was so bad - They are all doing different moves at the same time, the moves do not flow well at all, its not pleasing to the eye and im pretty sure it sucks to perform this crap too. And NO - this has nothing to do with the skills of the members - the choreo itself just sucks. The choreo team that did this ought to be ashamed of themselves and SM needs to question whichever higher up approved this crap.
In that vein, I had a conversation with my friend about other bad kpop choreographies and could not come up with any off the top of my head. Examples in the comments if you have any? usually most choreo is either great and elevates the song or is just ok and does not detract from it. This is one of the only cases where watching a performance makes the song worse than just listening to the audio.

This is true. I was on tumblr during it's early-mid 2010s heyday and while I wasn't a kpop fan, I followed many who were. All of them were multis. People literally created whole layout pages to show off their bias lists. At some point it shifted to where if you're not a group akgae then you're not a "true" kpop fan.
I find this new phenomenon baffling and kinda sad. There is less diversity than before but still so many great acts and music yet people restrict themselves into fandoms and purposefully refuse to listen to other artists because it makes them "less of a fan" with "multi" now being seen as a derogatory word.
V.strange.

with all due respect, we're in a KPOP forum. you flopped there.
wasn't aware I was supposed to be trying to win something..
as long as the my sentence did not trigger you - feel free to keep it moving
if it did - well.........

Congrats to the girls but there several soloists with more uls this year
Hence why the title of the post states "idol group song"

lol. I hope OP is working on some personal achievements of their own too

Mark from NCT. I listen to a lot of groups - In Kpop I sometimes find that when I think a group is lacking dynamic engaging stage performers --- if this is a fault of the creative director/choreographer or if it is due to lacking stage presence of the members.
I stumbled on an encore stage of an NCT unit and was like yeahhh that guy (mark) can command a stage regardless of choreo.
similarly, as a long time BTS fan - I was struck while watching bang bang con in 2020 - RM in particular has an enormous amount of stage presence. He's not even my bias in the group but I was surprised as some of the others get praised more for performance but when there's NO choreo - you can really see who sinks and swims (saying this they are all above average in Kpop terms).
lastly TXT do not have very good stage presence. I initially thought it was their choreo at fault but I think its them (minus yeonjun). Red velvet too are not great as a group (Seul-gi/wendy are good but as a whole ..meh!).

Well as they say taste is subjective. I happen to think 50% of the songs on your list suck...one man's meat is another's poison

Yes, I'm so glad the song caught on and is doing well.... I first heard it while he was performing on a music show 2 months ago and immediately went to find it on Spotify to add to my playlist because I thought it was such a nice song even though I had no clue who he was.
It took a while to chart but it's a nice example of good music/songs finding popularity solely based on quality

Anyone is too empty for a title track. Usually, Title tracks are full of catchiness, and the chorus of Anyone is too square (nothing really special for a title track)
I have not listened to the rest of the album. Do you think ready to love was the best choice out of all the tracks?
-
Regarding the MV views discussion, as a casual follower who has liked quite a few of their songs - ready to love may have been the wrong choice for a title track - "anyone" is better/more catchy.
Unfortunately what you have are hard core fans now streaming the video but for casual general Kpop fans - the video didn't make me want to watch it more than once.
Could just be me though.
