Yeah it's not ss aginst hybe, it's ss' legal firm against hybe's legal firm, because the when the latter went after sojang they straight ctrl+c/ctrl+v the brief of the first.

It's funny what with the timing but not really part of the current kerffufle. (Unless tve copycat legal firm is the one handling the injuction in korea, in wich case their base incompetence is something to celebrate)

When people start to cope with "nobody actually cares" you know it's actually legit.

Here are some shit that has already resulted from all this :

    - hybe underreporting their waste and having to pay ~$100K they "mistakenly" dodged, wich may never have been discovered because they were supposed to opperate under an exemption thanks to some good-business award

    - an award that is getting looked at, with the NA demanding that the labor ministry give a second look to the case and explain itself (big deal because, again, the award comes with a few privileges wrt business/taxes and so on)

    - the hybe coo / belift ceo guy straight up admitted to "sajaegi" ("selling" an album to a retailer with the promise and expectation that they would buy it back at full price, just to drive up initial sales numbers)

    - hybe getting roasted over their HR, especially concerning minor idols, when Korea adopted stricter guidelines about that in 2023, wich may result in legal action

    - the files wich may give ammuniion to mhj/nj/anyone else wanting to take a shot and has already gotten a boycott started from the carats (17 fandom), though we will have to see how evective it is.

So several governmental institutions are or will be on their back, their moneybags are rebelling and any future legal case against them will be able to use these leaks. That's not "it's a nothing burger, nobody cares~~".

I see this narrative everywhere, Twitter, Reddit, Ig, Tiktok, basically everywhere. Whenever someone says hybe is the biggest problem in this story, hybe stans start spamming that it's actually Mhj working with Sm/Kakao to spy on Bts and destroy Hybe from the inside. Even after reports stated that Hybe wanted to shelf Nj since 2023, they still stick to this narrative. I bet they must pick it somewhere, right? So, can you tell me the source of this conspiracy or how it started?

Pretty sure there is some chats/discords where someone come up with something, it gather a bit of momentum and suddenly all the popular accounts are repeating the party line.

Like the reddit thread that disappeared when the scale of the documentrs was revealed and went back up again as soon as the hybe mind could agree on the message to spam.

Seems pretty obvious Bang got jealous that the GG he was heavily involved with was getting overshadowed

I'm surprised HYBE shareholders allowed this to happen. This would never happen in America btw. Shareholders here would never allow a CEO's ego to endanger the company's bottom line

The problem is that between what Bang owns personaly, what his direct family owns and what he controls through agreements that entrusts him with the voting powers of shares not his own and being chairman of the board, he can at the very least veto what he doesn't like, slow down what he doesn't want to deal with and probably even power through most stuff with a simple majority.

You also have to remember that until all that suff came up, he was a successful producer with the reputation of having build the most successful kpop act BY FAR and that most other outside investor aren't industry professional who have portfolios that include shares in every music corp the world over operatring at the center of a planet-spaning musical empire. Also a lot of investors wouldn't be THAT interestied in how the sausage is made and/or even, if shit comes up, profit more from it going away silently.

Even yama was almost lost to the dark side, remember the mhj news broke he went silent for a whole week trying to be “neutral”

But yeh like I said earlier, I want their downfall to be so catastrophic that its effects will be felt for generations

I mean, a lot of people were willing to believe that MHJ could have been in the wrong, she didn't have the best reputation (so much so that even now some people can't bring themselves to start trashing hybe without putting in a disclaimer that they dislike MHJ first).

But as more information came out, and as hybe behaviour in handling the situation could be observed (their misleading statements, lies, media manipulations) and so on, opinions changed.

I'm willing to wager a lot more people started against MHJ but then came to believe she was in the right here than people who started on MHJ's side but then switched to hybe's, for all the hybe mind likes to screech about brainwashing and ~people refusing to see the truth~.

A few clarifications / my version of the timeline :

    - MHJ was promised her own label from the start, it was just supposed to come latter on than it ended up.

    - As part of the offer HYBE made her to recruit her, MHJ was also promised a free hand in the making of the planned Source GG.

    - As such she took a personal interest in building that group and essentialy made promises/declarations on the basis of the promises made to her by HYBE in the first place.

    - As the NJ project takes more shape, Bang declares that he isn't convinced by proto-jeans (sound/aesthetics/trainees blablabla) and starts planning for Le Sserafim (bringing Sakura and Chaewon, producing tracks).

    - MHJ is pissed AF, threatens to take her ball and go home but is convinced to stay on-board with HYBE by being offered to have her planned label's creation pushed forward so she could debut NJ here wich she accepts (in part so she can fulfil the expectations/promises she had made to the trainess that would have gotten fucked over by the switch up of project)

    So basically :

    - Bang had to be strong-armed into debuting NJ (seed of resentment),

    - NJ turns out to have all the potential in the world contrary to his previsions (narcissistic injury, resentment grows),

    - NJ ends up deminating despite a complete lack of involvement from him while the group he build from the trainees up and produces for is stuck in the pack (narcissistic unjury², ressentement blooms).

Wich also explains the shareholder contract MHJ was under : she wouldn't be able to leverage it into a ~$100millions payout if NJ hadn't been so successful. A B or C-tier group would have given very little growth to ador (barely enough to cover costs), and MHJ would have ended up with the possibility of selling her shares back for barely more than initial price.

But NJ slayed, so bang is malding and hybe is risking having their financials get stress-tested the fuck out.

edit : you might think the money thing is more important than the pride thing, but the money thing doesn't explain why bang would send MHJ bitter texts about NJ chart-success, so I think the pride thing is actually a pretty big thing in this situation.

Is one piece really worth watching? i have watched pretty much all the major animes but never touched one piece because of its cartoonish art style /character design and due to the fact that it got 1000+ episodes

Read the manga, it's a much better way to enjoy the works in general but one piece in particular. And the art style really tightens up as it goes along (with 1100+ chapters you got time to improve/find your groove) to become something that is still cartoonish but in an attractive way.

Important to note, the whole "let's throw away New Jeans and mediaplay only Le Sserafim*" happened between May and July 2023, according to knetz (because of hybe's trying to use "million sellers" to differentiate LS from NJ, so between unforgiven and Get Up).

I don't think any of HYBE's accusations against MHJ are based on acts older than even december 2023, nevermind reaching as far back as may.

The ugly hanams were never good actors in that relationship, it started in bad faith (with trying to give MHJ the run around wrt the promises made when hiring her) and they obviously started malding as soon as NJ/ador proved they were not going to get stuck in B-tier, as the niche group of a boutique label but instead a dominant, defining act that surpassed the result of their cookie cutter formula.

    Basically:

    - hybe has meetings during wich they discuss the state of the kpop field, including discussions of other companies' groups, with articles and such to illustrate (this is normal)

    - the national assembly pulled out some of those docs to show off and question belift's ceo

    - the documents show annotations added to the articles. The one I know specifically about is how next to an article mentionning a female idol's reading habits there were speculation about linking that to feminism and basically starting a controversy/hate campaign (this is the fucked up part)

And apparently more has been released some other fuckery started by hybe.

The queastion is, is it good for kpop? it's a bit worrisome if groups like Blackpink and BTS still is so big even if they are old groups and barrely active.

I think it is actually. Perhaps not for those who enjoy the permanent re-shuffle and short lived-carreers of people that aren't left with much at the end of it, but for it will inspire longevity in other acts, legitimize the field as something more than a puppy-mill and probably raise the quality of the output if the early contacts made can become more enduring legacies.

Congrats to the girlies, they made it.

    K. E. K.

I am actually re-familiarizing myself with the earlier court case in an attempt to track down where I might have read that whole "HYBE is supposed to ACTIVELY act to maintain MHJ as CEO" thing, so this tidbit that I hadn't realized yet is particularily juicy.

(Long story short, the judge ruled particularily harshly against HYBE at the time. It was actually noted that concerns from Ador about HYBE's conduct wrt other sub-labels were valid and that was before Hybe had to admit they straight up took actual work-product from ador to give to belift.)

Because few months later hybe installed their puppets in ador board and then made them vote mhj out. Basically hybe is trying to pretend they didn't fired mhj but ador board did, mhj sued hybe for it and that case is still on going.

To add to this, iirc the specific wording of MHJ's contract wasn't just that Hybe would make her CEO and then not try to install another for x years. It was that HYBE would use their owning shares (currently 80%, enough for a veto-proof supermajority) to maintain MHJ as CEO.

So according to that contract (and, of course, if it was an accurate understanding of that contract) then HYBE is supposed/legally obligated to order the board to reinstate MHJ and/or stack the board enough that people that would vote her out are a minority.

We will see if that is accurate and if the judge currently presiding is amused by HYBE's attempts at circumventing the previous judge's ruling.

How big are the odds that even the National Assembly were brainwashed by MHJ ?

It's the shaman still paying for itself, best investment in kpop ever. Much better RoI than the Dan cult.

    :pepepizza: yep yep yep

So brainroted you forgot to log onto your alt before providing yourself with the only form of love you will ever experience?

Edit: quick question, are you one of those morons that think MHJ was deliberately bringing up spanish terrorism for clickbait? Because the night of the long knives, where the nazi party purged itself of its slightly not-quite-as-naziish-elements through mass murder happened in 1934, mister "killingtime1934". U nazi.
