The unpopular kpop reddit site is pretty dumb and hateful tbh. They always bitch, complain and criticize the idols they hate for the most irrational and petty thing by disguising it as "unpopular" and would always start off with " no offense I don't hate (insert idol group or idol member here) but...(state their narrative)...". It's a low-key bashing site but they just tone it down so as to not make it as obvious.

He’s the L of this generation minus the group’s (infinite) popularity.
Don't you mean he's the Suzy of this generation? Or the male ver. of Suzy? Thats the more accurate comparison. I never recall L having this massive level of popularity with the gp as visual and actor esp when compared to his group. L was popular to an extent and quite successful but to not to the point of blowing up like Eunwoo is rn who's been 2 hit dramas and getting huge buzz from the gp.

I don't care if someone doesn't care about vocal talent, I just don't like it when they insist that vocal talent does not matter in kpop. Several kpop idols are passionate about singing and were recruited because of their vocal talent and it's disrespectful to tell them their passion and talent don't matter just because your faves are not stellar.
Well said

There's way too many to mention. 2nd gen served a lot of bops.
-
Yeah, it's their best song.
-
No, but they're the first 2nd gen group to make a cb n 2021.
There's gonna be alot of cbs by 2nd groups this year after a period of inactivity/hiatus hence alot of people, the media and industry are anticipating this and calling 2021 the cbs of 2nd gens.

I wonder if this a 'magic' mic used here or there was improvement or w/ever cos I don't know which vid is more recent. Cos the vid OP posted the high notes weren't that high but he was nasal. But With this video it was a higher note but he wasn't nasal in the slightest bit. I wonder which. ..
Sometimes these networks use pitch corrections on the the vids to cover up the flaws and enhance the singing. E.g. Masked Singer does this on official vids of perfs uploaded on their channel. Some other music shows too. The better way to go by judging vocals is actual live concerts, fancams, etc.

This hypothetical scenario doesn't really happen. Usually if stream numbers are high then UL are also quite high. Do you have real examples?
If the stream numbers are high then it is a successful song. You can have many fans but if the song you put out isn't good then even your popularity can't save the song. I can't imagine fans will force themselves to listen to music they hate. Music is meant to be listened to so if people keep listening to the song it is successful imo.
Oh, it does...
I'm surprised you with your namjoon pfp you didn't know this happened?
Alright I'll just name drop one example. Last year there was this argument/debate between armys and exols when it was revealed the ranking of most streamed bg songs. at #1 is an EXO song which had the most streams, however 2nd place is a BTS song which had more ULs than that EXO song which had way lower streams. This caused quite a stir among armys and exols. Armys were calling out how the no. of streams is disproportionate to the lower no. of ULs of that EXO song.
Pls I don't wanna start any fanwar here. I just wanna know which is considered better? The one with more ULs or the one with more no. of streams?
-
A is better cuz 300k ULs is big difference and 10M streams is not.
So, at the end of a day, no. of ULs matter more? (unique listeners shows more organic measure?) And bc no. of streams can be inflated?
-
Let's say
These acts:
A has:
-90M streams
With 1M ULs
B has:
-100M streams
With 700k ULs
which is better ?
I always see this with bgs. Not naming names and these are just numbers I made up just to show the comparison.
A seems like they have more unique listeners ( which includes gp? + non-fans?) listening but less no. of streams than B.
Whereas B have less no. of unique listeners but more streams...kinda reminds me of each fans bulk-buying more albums.
From your analysis, which is better? Which would you consider more successful?

Yeah I get what you mean

It's something I heard. Tbh, I don't know how true it is but I think it's pretty interesting.
Thats sounds like a fanfic/joke. If she lived and was raised in Japan most of her life before becoming an idol/trainee in Korea, chances are she was never fluent in English to begin with.

I always dislike those users on stan twt that always feel entitled and think they're right about certain idols' sexual orientation. And then when the said idols said they're not gay or if they're revealed to be dating the opposite sex (this happened to Heechul as he was speculated to be gay for years before by i-kpop fans), these users accused them of being homophobic, repressed, in denial, lying, etc. They're actually projecting their own fantasies onto these idols and when these idols turn out different than how they were viewed and perceived, these ppl became disgusting and mean and accused these idols all sorts of stuff. Why can't they just leave idols alone? They can speculate all they want but at the need of a day it's actually just opinions and assumptions formed based on stereotypes which can't be regarded as facts or truth. Hence all these speculations said by fans who know these idols personally shouldn't be taken seriously.
