Ain’t no way that an album which was not even confirmed by the company is delayed. The members did tease it, Yes. So, now they’re acknowledging its existence only to support the announcement of its potential delay and blaming it on CBX.

In response to the growing criticism on entertainment-related online communities, the I’LL-IT official account unfollowed the controversial account.

The recent incident involving the official I’LL-IT account has fueled speculation of "reverse viral" (intentional slander against a competitor) activities, especially as criticism of NewJeans is being widely posted on online communities and social networking services (SNS). This is not the first time HYBE has faced such allegations.

In December 2018, articles related to the group EXO saw a surge in negative comments criticizing SM Entertainment and the group. Typically, EXO-related articles attracted comments mainly from women in their teens and twenties, but the negative articles saw a spike in comments from women in their thirties and forties.

At that time, escalating conflicts between fandoms led to public criticism of reverse viral tactics surrounding HYBE and BigHit Music.

The current controversy involving the I’LL-IT account has brought these past criticisms back into the spotlight. An industry PR representative, who requested anonymity, commented, "Reverse viral marketing is a covert tactic that is quietly practiced even in the music industry."

They added, "The follow incident involving the official I’LL-IT account appears to be a careless mistake by the person in charge."
