the vowels for the 2 korean words and the derogatory term are all pronounced differently, so if you listen carefully they all don't really sound that similar.. if you don't know how to read korean it might seem like they're similar but if you know how to read it then it's easy to tell the difference

idols do this stuff all the time, people go crazy for a bit, then it dies down and everyone moves past it lol

Ok well that's still just your opinion, that's not an objective way to quantify the uniqueness of someone's voice. I can claim I think Taeyeon's voice is more unique than Taeyang, Park Bom, and Rose combined and it could be true to me so.. And again, saying you prefer "unique different voices" makes no sense though because every single person's voice is unique (meaning everyone has a voice that is different from everyone else).

it's just a dumb argument that YG stans started in 2nd gen when they were losing arguments about vocals x)))
so they always had to say " they are not the best but at least they have a unique voice " -_-
makes sense ngl
-
Nah some voices are less unique.
Can you give me some objective scale that rates voices on their uniqueness??
-
Unique vocals get way more noticed in Korea.
I never understood this argument about unique voices.. Doesn't everyone have a unique voice because everyone's voices are different? lol

Not sure yet but I really like Ohoo

Yeah I feel like male victims definitely get dismissed more than female victims in general... I mean look at the James Charles situation, if he were a straight male preying after female minors he would've been over at the first instance of his predation. But because all of the victims are male, I feel like people are a lot more forgiving of the situation and are overlooking it a lot more than they should be. He's a predator period and it's sad that people are still giving excuses, it's ridiculous that his apology video still has more likes than dislikes even as more allegations come out...

Atlantis is pretty good but Days and Years is probably one of my favorite b-sides of theirs period! (granted I don't know all their b-sides but still)

what are you talking about? "I" was number 1 on the charts and one of Taeyeon's best digitally performing songs. If anything, her consistency has been a lot more erratic in the last 2 years (hasn't really had a hit since "four seasons" and even before that there were up and downs like "fine" vs "something new"). Her album sales have also stayed relatively stable over the last 5 years - she sold over 100k for her first mini-album and sold a similar number for her most recent mini album (her full albums sell better by about ~50k).
It took IU 2 years to get big (she debuted Sept 2008 with abysmal digital/physical sales, "Good Day" came out Dec 2010 and that mini sold over 90k) but you can't compare at all because IU didn't start in a group - when she debuted as a solo, she started at 0, with zero recognition, fans, hype, or reputation.
The main problem with Wendy is lack of promotion and hype. Has she been on a single radio or promotional show at all? Did SM just release her album and then peace out?
I think there could be an argument made for Spark being a hit and All About You was most definitely a hit, but yeah overall she's never been super consistent like IU, but she always garners the public's attention regardless if the song sticks or not
