komandos895 got my point right! i wrote that with the idea of seeing how different marketing strategies work. I didn't mean to say that bp, bb, rv and etc. don't have any kind of relationship with their fans. My point was they're not actively trying to appeal to the fans as more approachable than they actually are. They all have parasocial relationships with their fandoms but the difference is that they're not pushing the whole thing "unnaturally" (probably not the best word to use but I can't think of anything better)

They're paying god knows how much money to the managers for info, follow idols everywhere, go to extreme lengths to take pictures, book the same flights and hotels and yada yada but are nowhere to be found when a scandal happens. Like was that man in that woman's house or not? Were they together in that bar or not? Are these idols bullying their co-member or not?

btw this isn't directed towards anyone, I'm just giving examples

You have a point, some fans do overestimate Kkura's power but sales isn't what bothers me. I'm more scared about the concept and how well they'll do on charts.

About the age difference - I was thinking the same until I remembered red velvet has a 91 liner with 99 liner and irene and yeri were approximately the same age as Sakura and the 06 girl when debuting so I guess it's not such big of a deal

Since the rumoured lineup of the group is out...

I've seen many posts on Reddit especially saying that their friendship is "last tier friendship" and they don't have good chemistry together. I personally disagree with these statements but you can't deny they weren't very popular as a duo in Iz*one. (even though there we had ships like SsamYen, Chaekura, Hyekura and WonWon which were stealing most of the spotlight)

Now, after they've trained together and are the most popular members, do you think they have the potential to be the leading og ship? (like Yujin and Wonyoung in IVE for example)

kep1er might be a bit more successful internationally because of the girl crush but the quality of music isn't as good. I do think mnet raised the bar a bit too high and the planet girls will need to release a massive hit like next level or ddu du ddu du so they can jump over it

I was thinking the same. in my opinion, mnet will never have a group like iz*one again. not only the vibe of the members was unique but the music production, the choreographies, the music videos and the concept, everything was high quality with a classy feel. we don't see this often in kpop nowadays

Not only in terms of popularity but in terms of music quality too. Do they have the IT factor to become a leading 4th gen group? Did Mnet raise the bar too high with Iz*one?
