Between Yezi and Cai Lu, it was a pretty talented group it seems. (I found out about Cai Lu and Fiestar after reading that Kang Daniel was a backup dancer for Cai Lu on a show. lol )
Chuang 2020 had the first bare-midriff tops along with the slit pants-skirt. Initially, I thought the garter was too much. But it was pretty well done especially the way things were paired with the white jacket and navy tie, vest and belt.

I'm just talking about the 33 C trainees. In my opinion I didn't see a stand out visual in the tier of Yiren or Wonyoung. Obviously visual isn't the only thing, they could be extremely charming or be stan attractors, but you can't deny visual is a very important part in the industry. For ex, Ju Jingyi, she wasn't super talented or anything but she was very popular due in great part to her visual. Despite that, the C team has cute and pretty looking trainees
Ju Jingyi is pretty talented. Violin, solid dancing, acting and a voice good enough for OSTs.
To be perfectly honest, Wonyoung and Yiren though top rated visuals would actually have had a hard standing out at Chuang 2020 or YWY2 -- when compared to Kiki, Yi Yang or Zhenyu.
There are some very good visuals among this group according to traditional standards.

It won't be another PD48 where MNET pretty much built its mainline story line on how undertrained the "foreign" girls are. That's for sure.
Not with girls like Roada, Su Ruiqi and the center Xiaoting and their experience from YWY and Chuang on the C-Group.
Even considering that the K-Group have debuted members of Fanatics and Cherry Bullets (Kim Doah, Rayeon, Bora, Jiwon), I thought the C-Group's perf was a bit better. And the song was in Korean!
Looks are subjective but the C-Group also stood out visually.

they managed to do it well with The9 thanks to Yuxin, K Lu, and Kiki or Yu Yan mixin things also with shorter hair
but on the other hand I'm happy that in BonBon Girls Zhao Yue can basically do whatever she wants with her hair and no one expected her to keep short hair
Zhao Yue has short hair but she is the farthest thing from a Tomboy. Girls see her body as equisitely female. Nene said so explicitly. lol
On 7Senses, the Tomboy role is taken up by Diamond more often than not.

People here overestimate KPOP's power outside Asia. And if you listened to those nationalist KNetz instead of LSM, its power in Asia will be diminished since China is not only the largest market but the fastest growing one as well.

Yes, the reason is the export of Korean pop culture. People today don't understand how important LSM was to the rise of KPOP and Hallyu in general.
Much of the system you see today came from SM and LSM's realization that the Korean market cannot support the entertainment companies' future.
In order to grow, K-Ent needed to export its pop culture outside and because of the population size and cultural proximity, China has to be an early target. Concentrating on the US and Europe in 1990s would have never allowed Hallyu to reach critical mass.
If KDrama/Kpop never took over China, it wouldn't dominate Asia today. Because if China did not switch over to KDrama and KPOP, they might have continued supporting the Taiwanese pop music and Hong Kong movies and dramas that held the Chinese diaspora market across Asia in the 1980s and early 90s. Once Hallyu happened in China, the diaspora market changed too and Korean ent not only gained China but helped removed rivals as well.
Whatever you think of China, it is growing very fast. Chinese KPOP idols go back to China because they can make more money there. Movies make much more in the China box office than in Korea. CFs are much more lucrative in China.
Wonyoung's dad is a hwagyo (Chinese-Korean) whose parents came from Shandong and took Republic of China (Taiwan) citizenship but had never lived in Taiwan. The ROC citizenship was common for hwagyo.
There is a reason Wonyoung never talks about this, hwagyo are discriminated against even though they gave Korean its iconic noodle dish:

And China needs more babies now, so they're are doing it so young adults do what nature intended instead of obsessing over a handful of female or male idols
Also there are articles about the "effeminization" of the Chinese population because of idol culture.

That said, there seems to be a lot of Thai postings on Twitter that Chuang 2022 is happening (albeit with a different voting format) and they are already discussing candidates they want to be in 2022. Don't know how accurate they are.

Fu jing was born in Hunan, that's like Chinese hinterland or like Iowa in the US. Not a diverse area so probably no mixing.
She is model gorgeous so a natural fit for luxury CFs and CDrama. But she's a true idol with a great voice.
