Again you only had two sources. Metacritic and KMA, they are an indicator that this Group had critical acclaim but is not a good argument for the most ever. Ever means even older Groups and not just in the modern sense. There are other critics sites where BTS isn’t even included.
Is BTS the best critical acclaim BG on Metacritic ? Yes
Do they have the most KMA wins ? Yes
But to combine this and claim they are the most critical acclaim BG ever is a little reach considering that it takes far more researches and it’s also a bit more complex to detain that.
If you only mean in Korea ? It’s debatable.
Anyway not here to argue with you, i just felt your arguments for that claim is weak and not really thought out.
OK, lets try to find any actual reviews of BB. Pitchfork gave GD a 6.1, when he had the album attempting to break into west, thats it. NME has an article about Seungri and Coachella, thats it. I have not seen any valid review sites review them. Korean critical acclaim should be nicely consolidated in KMAs results.

Just saying this, BB, Infinite etc boygroups were very critically acclaimed internationally too. But metacritic seems like only started write review since 2018. The Canadian music critic I follow (he has a blog and he reviews most kpop music even incuding nugu groups and artists) reviewed lots of BTS's music group. They have scored amazingly good. Most of their songs got 8-9 out of 10. Same with BB and Infinite etc groups.
Im talking about actual review sites. Someones blog is no better than posting on AKP.

It looks great!

That statement is not true.
BTS is the BG with the most critical acclaim on Metacritic. On that site and not worldwide and definitely not ever.
The critics over there are American-centric, they don’t really review Forgein Groups unless they are somehow known in the US as they relay on article reviews etc. So definitely also not in Korea if you only rely on that site.
The site was created in 1999, the focus wasn’t even really on music as it is now. Many Boygroups therefore not included or their score is lower because there weren’t enough article sources from their time.
Also with BTS having more KMA Deasangs then BB, you do realize that BB hasn’t been active since 2016 ? It’s not a good proof either.
But they are the biggest BG right now that’s true.
I know some of you will come at me but y’all know I’m right.
I said that I included the big boy bands of recent years. The point was to compare biggest boybands over their critical response and most big boy bands have been western. Kpop boy bands dont have any good critical reponse, KMAs have existed from 2004 and boy groups other than BTS have only 1 daesang and few nominations or smaller category wins. Big Bang releasing nothing since 2016 doesnt have anything to do with this, since BB have been big since debut (therefore on their radar) and KMAs have existing during their whole career. Other big boy bands have been Japanese and noone is critically acclaiming them.
If all existing sources point to one direction, it kind of seems true, no?
We can maybe argue about Jackson 5 or Bee Gees or whatever, when it comes to boy bands from more distant history and boyband definitions, but that has less to do with the point, which is looking at boybands in modern sense.

They can draw people in with pop perfection, but they have substance to make people fans once you start going through the discography.

I think its more that. Because BTS has massive massive hits like Spring Day.... its like for a BTS song to be a national hit it has to be that big, that's why even though songs like DNA and IDOL have similar numbers to that of other groups national hits they aren't considered one by many people cause they are like a level below (even though still massive) BTSs biggest hits.... idk if i worded that correctly.
Many people want to evaluate hits on a relative scale. Like "this is the biggest hit for you, let call it national hit, national hits for everyone!".
They also are biased by their own bubble and think their part of the kpop fandom hyping up a song means "impact", thats how we ended up with some very strange suggestions in that biggest boy group hits thread we had a while ago. Since BTS/ARMY are mostly not part of the kpop bubble, they often dont see they hype and impact BTS songs have.

Its kind of flattering to think BTS is powerful enough that US vice president is afraid of armys cancelling her, but its obviously not true. It might seem strange, but politicians also have personal tastes and she just likes their music.
Reactors react to kpop at all for views (aka money), thats what they do.
Artists collab for expanding their potential listener base or because label is attaching an unknown artist they want to build up to a bigger star or because they actually want to make music together. I think you can find all of these types of collabs in kpop. Most collabs between western artists are for gaining better charting and sales or propping up a lesser known artist as well.

I checked out some kpop in 2010-2011 (when they were huge in Japan), hated it, except Gee and Mister. Then I got spammed with it over the years by kpoppies invading jpop spaces, like around EXOs debut they spammed Kai everywhere. Became a kpop anti.
I got reintroduced by BTS (via kdrama OSTs) on Youtube in early 2017, a week or 2 after Spring Day release. I clicked on Dope first, it was catchy, then it proceeded to their other MVs and music, Spring Day was my fave. Then I proceeded to their music. Spring Day, the HYYH MV trilogy and AgustD made me a fan.

Let’s bit with Destinys Child.. they along with TLC were both two of the most acclaimed girl groups in their prime.
Well we have to remember metacritic wasn’t created until 2001, so Destiny Child first 2 albums (basically half their entire discography) doesn’t have a metacritic rating as albums released before June 2001 don’t have metacritic scores unless they were remastered or re-released.
Yeah, they would probably have a higher score if earlier albums were included. I doubt it would be BTS level though.

God, I hated that pretentious Black Swan video so much. Thanks for reminding me of that video.
You are allowed to have bad taste. Its the best video of the year.

Who even comes close to making masterpieces like this? BTS are the complete package musically, lyrically, performance and personality wise.

The low ratings of all the previous big boybands show how poorly viewed the whole genre is. BTS has had to deal with this prejudice in addition to the reputation of kpop and the language barrier to get any recognition. Its has taken years of incredibly good, outstanding albums to even start getting these scores, though they deserve higher.

Destiny's Child has average of 58.

OMG taste! Trump and whatever his name was could never.
Also, congratulations to US armys!

So, it is a well know fact that BTS is the most artistic boyband ever (talking about boybands as pop groups, not rock groups like Beatles). They have taken the whole genre to a whole new level. This has resulted in critical acclaim never before seen for a mainstream boyband or a mainstream pop group.
Here are some facts to prove it.
This is the average metacritic score for most recent popular boybands:
78 BTS
66 Jonas Brothers
65 NSync
64 One Direction
62 Take That
59 Backstreet Boys
MOTS7 is the the highest rated boyband album, with score of 82 , followed by BE and Progress by Take That which have 80. Most boyband albums have a score of less than 70, BTSs lowest rating is 74. Things dont change much if we add girls groups, Fifth Harmony being the most critically acclaimed with an average score of 71.
The situation is same in Korea, where BTS has 3 KMAs daesangs, Big Bang has 1, SNSD has 1. Thats it for kpop groups.
Just a reminder as we face more award shows and people start talking about quality
