Legends! I like how non-english, non-industry pushed artists are dominating
Yup BTS definitely aren't strangers to breaking decade old records.
Thats their main hobby
Yes, western companies started signing any kpop group, retailers started stocking kpop albums and promoters started booking tours for kpop groups out of nowhere, its totally accidental that it happened after BTS blew up in the west and was the first to prove kpop can be profitable.
And a large part of 4th gen groups fans are totally not multi or ex-armys.
This thread and kpoppies really remind me of this documentary about flat earthers I saw recently. The ability to ignore all numbers and all logic is remarkable.
Dynamite trot remix finally?
Display MoreYet ARMYs say you don't care about ATEEZ there is no day where ATEEZ are hated and attacked by ARMYs. You say it's just some toxic part of the fandom. Nope. I have seen ARMYs on all platforms say ATEEZ are only popular because of BTS.
2nd gen groups have created the initial kpop community in the west. That initial kpop community is very crucial in the succes yet so many say they had no impact. If you are gonna build something the base is very important. That base was the community created by 2nd gen groups. Also 2nd gen groups have made the all the music evolutions in kpop, they have diversified it's sound to the fullest. If they haven't made that musical revolutions kpop's music would be much more outdated & less appealing to the west. Every step is crucial for the process.
If you really don't want to accept 2nd gen groups have paved the way for BTS then don't say BTS has paved the way for next generations.
Everyone has paved their own way. Especially nowadays world is globalized, social media has became a thing talent & quality can be discovered without the help of others.
Even nugu band in my nugu country has been charting on BB200 without promotions and without singing in English by their debut album. West were amazed at them and they have said they never seen such a music. Why? Cause 10 years ago everything was less accessible.
Theres a difference in the miniscule level of paving the way 2nd gen did for BTS in the west, which is visible by the difference in the level of popularity and achievements of BTS compared to 2nd gen put together.
And its another thing to have the groups who came after BTS, none of whom have a single record to their name, they dont surpass BTS at anything and all of them are following exactly in BTSs footsteps. Thats paving the way 100%. Not 4% like 2nd gen for BTS.
You cannot treat someone who has been surpassed 100 times to someone who has not been surpassed, to whom anyone hasnt even been close to. When theres a group who surpasses BTS even half as much as BTS has surpassed 2nd gen, you can talk about paving they way for themselves.
PS: Most armys dont even know who Ateez is, theyre not targeting them.
Now that the links are out Im getting the urge to preorder
Dynamite even broke records set by Seo Taiji & The Boys, so this isnt even the oldest records it broke!
I think its international kpop fans, not armys.
Anyway, BWL is back to top 40 on Melon weekly, almost 2 years after release!
Its going to surpass it next week. Are there even any more records for Dynamite to break, other than Spring Day's longevity ones?
i mean, I wouldn't have high expectations since this is just the standard version of an album that is already out, not a repackage or anything. The people most likely to buy it are those who didn't buy the deluxe. Plus the sales will just be included in the overall sales of BE, potentially bringing the total to 4 million (

I dont think it would be counted officially on Gaon. It doesnt have the same release date. It would be another million seller if it hits it.
UWC and Billboard would probably add it up with Deluxe, they add repackages as well.
Anyway when I say BTS is pushed I mean the million vlives BTS got. I remember in 2016 when I got into kpop how armys used to claim they couldn’t keep up with BTS content. How can people say BTS wasn’t pushed lol. THATS PUSH. That’s being excessively and deliberately pushed and marketed.
Being pushed doesn’t mean US promo or US label that’s so silly. Why are people pretending like as if having accessible content in a global platform isn’t one of the biggest push you can ever get? SM was never invested in making EXO more accessible globally and there is no two ways about this.
VLive is a platform only kpop fans use. EXO had a whole drama on Viki which was a global platform with much larger audience and crossover possibilities for kdrama fans. They had many varieties. SM even got them a perfomance at Olympics. That was push.
And BTSs VLives are the huge promotion that made them popular in west....
Coca Cola song or a new song!
BTS. They have a huge gap with everyone else, when it comes to physicals, digitals, western success (Spotify streams, charting), critical acclaim.
Noone else has ever been dominant in all areas even with a smaller gap, since Seo Taiji days.
Its even hard to decide 2nd place, but noone competes with BTS.
Wasnt Spotify supposed to launch in Korea? In case there is a new song, maybe they would launch with BE new version?
Not only BTS lots of groups have recieved so much hate back then. Both 2nd and 3rd gen has dragged each other. But instead of changing that toxic culture ARMYs have even taken it to the next level.
It's funny you compare the 2012's influence to 2017's influence. Time, situation & everything has different.
BB has been invited in US award shows and recieved awards. But yet your fellow ARMY has called them some token Asian group and they had no real US fans lmao. Then how they could chart in BB200 in 2012. The difference is during 2nd gen no one has cared about success. We have just enjoyed the music. We haven't even know BB has gone to US, recieved awards. We haven't even had goal for YT streaming. Everything was just going by the flow. But now it's all about success. That success is much more fueled by mass streaming, mass voting & bulk buying.
I didnt say they had no real US fans, I said they had no fans show up for their EMAs win like BTS did for BBMAs.
Why are you lying about them being invited to US award shows when just in this thread that was proven to be a lie.
I literally posted an article here detailing how hard their fans tried to first get them the nomination and then to get them the win, teaming up with other kpop fans. How does that translate to "noone cared about the success".
It's said that the album will include gifts which means extra content is different. If track list is different they would mention it too
Gifts could be new songs or new version of songs
