You mean BTS’ success. Has BH ever replicated their success in the West?
-
who claimed that though? Lmao
My thoughts exactly. Who said that?
But it’s nice to know that the biggest fashion house in the world needs clout from BTS as well.
-
Well you can think that, but that’s not reality at all so
Meh, different strokes for different folks
-
I still think luxury brands produce some of the ugliest clothes I’ve ever seen and that people buy them to feel expensive even if it’s just a plain white shirt and the brand logo on it. But as long as BTS are enjoying themselves and they get some free gifts, why the heck not let them enjoy a free show?
-
This is weak, even from you.

Virgil Abloh is a artistic director of LVs men's wear collection
Oooooh, nice! So I don’t get what these fashion show invitations are for. What does it do for the invitees?
-
Are they selling miniature planes or something? What is this about and what is Virgil abloh?
-
*cringe* They could at least change the faces and make them “original characters” even if they were inspired by BTS. But then again, Taekookers are some of the most delusional and daring shippers of the bunch.

Why is a fake feminist telling a woman of colour what to do?
-
bts is more famous and have a bigger fanbase so it's more likely that people would give them fake love to please that bigger audience.

she would’ve done the same if it were any other Kpop act though. Even if they’re less popular than BTS, the Kpop community is very loud and vocal on social media. They’re all very capable of giving her the clout she presumably needs.
It’s just that this only pushes the narrative that it’s near impossible for a grown person to ever like BTS, that every support they receive is fake but every other Kpop group must be making quality music instead for anyone to follow them. Every favorable opinion about them is fake and done for clout but every favorable opinion about any other group, even BP who has a huge social media following on their own, must be because the “GP” genuinely likes their music. It’s a tired narrative to push the “BTS only has fandom support” agenda while “my faves have genuine mainstream popularity” shtick.

Ao3 is so much better : better tagging system, no ads, completely driven by the fans
And honestly, no idea. But Naver isn't buying it for charity purpose, they will try to make money out of it... the question is how.
They better not wipe out the anime fanfics
-
I’m just enjoying the memes lol. Keep em coming!
-
Oh, Fanfiction.net still exists ( and I think LiveJournal do too ), but most people have moved to Ao3 by now. As long as you have your stuff saved here it's fine.
But yeah, any writer on Watpad, I would advise to save your work on Google Docs or something. We never know what might happen.
AO3 is superior with better writers generally.
I’m wondering if them purchasing Wattpad will result in existing books and fics there being wiped out so they can start afresh.

I agree about the fake YouTube reactors. However, I don’t think the VP of the US, right hand “woman?” of the ‘Free World’ needs clout from BTS when she’s just been elected and has already won her seat. Like, what would you gain from that when you’re already in a position of power?
Does that mean she’s following Zendaya and other Western artists for clout too? What is it with Kpop fans insisting that only BTS gets fake love (pardon the pun) while other Kpop groups get “legitimate” support outside the fandom?

"Flexing, bragging and fighting"...
Hmmm, that's your take. I will take bragging and flexing but "fighting" over facts in spoken words and stats? No, that again comes under bragging and flexing... because nobody is fighting to gain anything here.
So, what do you prefer, OP? Stans doing these three things about who is the top visual of the industry, the one with the most fashion deals (read western), which song is the national hit (even though no one uses this term in Korea), the big 3 companies in Korea... because of the supposed rich history they have in Korean music industry?
I would much rather stans feel happy that their Korean faves must be feeling so good that they came from the bottom and reached such success across the whole world that they are being acknowledged by their own country and it's president as the National Pride. That they single handedly create jobs for people, even during such tiring times... contributing a sizable chunk to the economy.
And last but not least, that in this age when language and culture is a living political and power currency... making Korean music enriched with the culture of their tiny Asian country and succeeding in it immensely, is not a small insignificant feat just confined to music.
Why do you think the whole world was celebrating "Parasite" winning the Oscars? Because the world needs to know and acknowledge other type of art that do not revolve around English or West.
Kpop fans calling others Koreaboos or begging for Western validation just because fans feel proud that an Asian act is competing and winning among English speaking western acts... who always had the upper hand, in the whole world. Man, I have seen it all!
Couldn’t have said it better meself

It’s alright. After bumping into you lot on both AKP and Twitter, it’s enough to say that from my observations, the feeling’s mutual.

it's bc these kpop idols themselves say they aren't attractive and think they're unworthy. sometimes they do it to be humble but it makes even the normal confident fans think "if my fave think they're unworthy, then what am i?" and they start feeling insecure. not saying this is the kpop idols fault but the way some show their humbleness has more of a negative approach.
Good point. Also, celebrities and entertainers in general, be it singers or performers or actors or models or sportspeople, are all generally held to be people who are idolized either for their skills, looks, wealth or all of the above. It’s not a surprise that the average Jane and Joe would deem themselves unworthy when they compare themselves to what they keep seeing in the media.
