Sadly I think Wish has become an after thought, as they kept extending and planning NCT units so far apart in debut
On the contrary - the lack of attention from older nctzens is working in their favor. Nct fanbase is toxic and full of akgaes who spread false rumors to damage members that aren’t their fave. It’s repellent to new fans.
These boys are building their own fanbase from the ground up and I’m amazed at how well they are doing.

What was the latest example of a dating scandal affecting a GG negatively?
I have a theory that part of Itzy's introduction to flop city was ryujin's dating rumours. Korean male stans lost interest and pivoted to other groups. I also theorise that this has something to do with twice's poor charting - that also occurred after jihyo, momo's dating news leaked.

I think op is confused about the meaning of one hit wonder.
Aespa has arguably the largest dedicated fanbase of any kpop girl group after blackpink. Their album sales keep increasing year on year and their music is well received by their fans.
I personally love their music and each subsequent release ends up outdoing the prior in terms of my Spotify streaming stats. So no there hasn’t been a decline for people who actually like their stuff. Girls and spicy are both great title tracks. Better things is one of the least boring English songs to come out of a kpop group recently.

I wouldn't under estimate Kai, Yixing and rookie Sehun tbh. The only dancer better than both Exo and Nct dancers is Hyoyeon lol!
Nct has more rappers but Chanyeol and Sehun are great too. Each has a different style. SM treats Mark as Nct's best rapper but I prefer Chanyeol over him and Sungchan and Lucas in Nct.

I don’t even stan nct anymore but in what world is Chanyeol/Lucas or sungchan a better rapper than mark. That isn’t a matter of opinion or preference - it’s straight up not true. The difference in skill is too far… sorry not sorry.

If all that comes out is those photos he won’t get kicked out BUT…he should prepare to be the least popular member of the group.
As much as western fans want to deny - SK and Chinese fans are the paying fan base of any sm boy group and this kid has just alienated a massive portion of that fanbase.
Sm also won’t push him either because he has shown himself to be unreliable. It’s not rocket science to not take bed selfies when preparing to debut as a kpop idol.

I don’t know if this alludes to the group with my guys Shotaro-san-padawan and Sungchan (Tha Specialist) in it but R&B sets SM apart…especially with their level of singing still being largely unmatched in K-Pop.
When it comes to group member auras that feel cool and vibey..SHINee and EXO have this because they developed their talents to a high degree and they have the songs to match it.
People don’t see it yet, but it was smart to pull Shotaro and Sungchan from NCT-ship, because they also have this frequency of cool and they have high potential to develop into a new vibey group. If the rest of their new group members can sing well and effortlessly keep up with them, with consistently good songs, their group can be a big threat of next gen influence. I’d partner with their team to make this happen with the group’s songs if I like the rest of the group.
Yes SM acts are falling behind in western markets in comparison to hybe... BUT that is because SM is full of old fogies who have no good ideas and now bad music.
It is not because of a lack of X factor/appeal of group members. No way in hell Shotaro or sungchan have more star factor than half of the members of NCT 127 or dream. You lost me there. Sungchan has looks and not much else. There's a reason it took so long for him to debut.
If SM persists with same music/unexciting concept and misguided promo - their fate will be worse than their predecessors in NCT
