Project what you want. Even if I take it the way you meant you are incorrect. BTS did not sell more than all the Big 3 in 2020 much less the entire industry. I don't see what your point is, it is obvious if you look at the numbers there is no way they are bigger than the entire industry.
A biased poll by fans won't change the facts.
Opinions and polls grounded in sentimentality are pointless.
Data for my rational:
BH total sales in 2020 (including TXT): around 10.05 million albums
SM total sales: around 8.16 million albums
JYP total sales: around 4.07 million albums
YG total sales: around 2.75 million albums
So if YG+SM+JYP has more sales than BTS how are they bigger than the industry as a whole?
(I even left out Pledis and they have sold more than YG) and the Industry is vastly bigger than just SM, YG, JYP and Hybe...........

This is difficult, because most of my personas are related I think - they are not vastly different IMO.
I am always:
- an extrovert
- a diplomat at heart
- putting the greater good first
- over analytical
- good for a quick quip
With my friends in private I will let loose and rant/relax.
With others and in public I tend to be more careful with my words, but I still feel I am overall the same.
Only those who know me in both settings I guess can confirm though. I don't know.

I need to see UL counts to figure out whether BTS underperformed. I dont think BTS can flop anymore, Army is too big, BTS is guaranteed to get 400K - 450K UL for every title release on Melon which is enough to get #1 on Melon or at least top 3-5.
Dyna started out around that range last year and got GP to buy in afterwards and ended up peaking at over 700K UL (with all the hype from US and Korean President endorsements). Let's see how Butter does, if it can match that 700K UL with GP buying in.
Why does your standard of hit always differ for BTS? This is straight up clownery now.
