I think everyone was fine with the majority of the group being from K-group, and a lot of I-fans do have k-group members as their top one pick, but C1 and J1 not making it at all? It is that, more than anything else that has caused the uproar. I mean, there is no way to claim that if we are judging on talent/skill/charisma as displayed by the show that the current top 9 from the 18 left is the top 9 based on that.

There is no "what if" - this is very clearly exactly what MNET is doing. They want to elevate people like Xiaoting, Hikaru, and Mashiro into the team if they can.
-
Catchy songs performed by talented and wholesome top tier performers - what is not to like?
I don't hold the existence of annoying solo stans as something to hold against the members.
-
I thought there would be 3 C trainees, 3 J trainees and 3 K trainees
That was never promised - the initial voting method required one to pick the same number of people from all groups, but the show has made it clear that will end and the final team will be based on voting for specific trainees only.

As much as I would prefer not to agree with Teshub, it seems pretty clear that MNET only cares about her from the C-team, though it makes sense why: has the looks Koreans love, no political controversies, and best yet, actually talented.
The question is whether they try to knock her off the #1 spot so there will be a Korean center. Her performance this episode will make that task harder.

A random girl who didnt see any contract at all.
Are you claiming she didn't see her own contract? That is a bold and utterly unsupportable claim.
Also, any laws that applied to her contract with CUBE would apply to the other South Korean entertainment programs.
-
If any participant in the C-group has a dedicated base that votes for her first of all, its Xiaoting. Her not being C-1 would be an Earthquake, and I certainly would not bet on it.

Its not not true of MNET.

Having a catchy hook in the choreography is as helpful as having one in the song. Bang Bang Bang is a classic choreography that everyone knowns how to do, and goes perfectly with the song.
The idea that every kpop song should have choreography that only highly trained dancers can pull off is absurd, specially since the performers in theory are also supposed to be singing.

At most two Chinese trainees will make it. Since Xiaoting seems a lock, the competition for that second slot (assuming its even there) will be rough. Ruiqi is also very talented, but she gets K-hate more than Yaning, who seems to get more I-hate, so maybe she sneaks in at the end.

Yeah, this combination of talented women works extremely well, and this is the foundation of their success.

One is essentially a cult, the other are Blinks, so....

This is probably the best video I know that showcases the space the party takes place in, but its from 10 years ago, the year of the Alexander McQueen exhibit:

Interesting...
Thanks
Specifically, it is a fundraiser for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which focuses on fashion pieces:

The party is held within the Museum's first floor, with the dinner at the Temple of Dendur, a Roman Era Egyptian Temple disassemble stone by stone and reassembled within the Museum.

Never in doubt.
And thus, so boring.
Not surprised so many ARMY are sore winners.

Because Americans don't care if someone is popular in SEA/China/Korea but SEA/China/Korean people will somewhat care if someone is popular in America.
But they have more $. Hence they go through all those efforts for just a handful of Americans, relatively speaking
Blackpink has made a lot of money out of the US market - likely more money than any group other than BTS. Could they possibly make even more money? Yes, but not sure why anyone but the shareholders of YG, its employees, and the girls themselves should give an F about this - only they stand to profit.
-
It's amazing how a group with no relevance in the US has gotten Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and Dua Lipa to collab with them...look at them looking for that South East Asia and China clout...
Also, I mean, they really haven't had any relevant US gigs...except the only idol group to perform at Coachella, and multiple appearances in Late Night US shows...
Is the US their biggest source of fans? No, but why would it been, when the US accounts for only 4% of humanity?

She has a really good voice and knows how to work the stage. I think the show did her dirty in the first episode, turning what is supposed to be a joke into some insult, which was silly.

Yawn. My BP bias is and has always been Lisa. But that doesn't mean I am some absurd akgae who is going to complain because one good thing happened to one member.
Also, Lisa was part of the team who chose her songs. You have a problem? Take it up with her. I am not a fan of either of them, but that doesn't stop me from liking Lisa.
You children need to grow the F up, really.

I am just hoping it isn't true
1-the akgaes and 2-People might criticize her for going to the met gala during the pandemic.
1. Screw the akgaes. No one should plan their lives around salty, vicious people
2. Rose didn't decide to hold the Gala in person, so anyone attacking her for showing up would find some reason to attack her anyways.
