Because Suju still relies on international fans (SEA fans mostly) while SHINee's fans are concentrated mostly in Korea and Japan. SHINee have been more popular than Suju in Korea since at least 2015.

SHINee is contemporary group. SHINee doesn't have a certain concept, they try everything in different genres. And they've more versatile as group, this also provides an advantage.
