    When you’re a female idol, you can’t make a wrong facial expression because you’ll be dragged for years. You can’t be too skinny or gain a little more weight because either way your name will be dragged as if you are a criminal, including the way how you eat things.


    But when you’re a male idol, you can do drugs, ignore your insurance dues, get caught with DUI and get in a car accident or any other major social issues, you’ll have no problem returning to the industry after some time

    We saw the insane witch hunts with likes of Tiffany, Hara, Taeyeon, Sulli, Bom etc pushed to the very brink or even over by knetz and Korean society.


    Meanwhile male idols get up worse shit and often can still have a somewhat decent career still going: rapists get a slap on the wrist, can drunk drive multiple times, do drugs on the side, get caught up in criminal activity and gangs, be outwardly sexist even on national tv and so on.


    The worst part it’s not being a male idol in showbiz that that gets them a pass (we’ve seen in many sectors like Hollywood where they protect their own), it’s that society as a whole is much harsher on women than men even when the woman’s controversies are relatively less severe.
