Seeing Shawols defending SHINee's new song from sounding like NCT & SuperM

That's exactly what inspired the creation of f(x). "Don't Call Me" is just brief skip away from "Up & Down" to me. By the way, I luv Key's vibrato during the line: "Don't think about callllinnnn'"! I felt THAT!

OMG. I feel like Iโm spending my life defending NCT in these threads and Iโm clearly a masochist because I keep doing it. While NCT does have experimental sounds, your description is not a true characterization of their overall work at all. Just like people are making assumptions on Shineeโs sound based on title tracks, people are making a flip side assumption of NCT based on title tracks. The bulk of songs are not โbuilding up to the chorus to go hard and aggressiveโ nor rap being the main focus of the song. Donโt wanna hog the thread with examples, but Iโve tucked some examples under the spoiler cut.
These are all songs from March NeoZone and repackage, aka the album with Kick It and Punch, which are more
Experimental. Thereโs more across their discography but Iโm trying to not completely blow up this thread here.

i'm a nctzen
but in my comment i was talking about their title track
because people talk about shinee new release by making their judgement base on NCT title track
that's why i was only describing NCT title track sound to explain how it's different to don't call me
