Groups like EXO, Red Velvet and Aespa are slaying internationally in Spotify and Apple Music

  • So does that mean that haters and jealous stans of other groups have to come up with other excuses to shade those groups? :whatr:

Or will they say that all other groups with the same or worse digital results have crap songs and suck on stage and have no charisma too? :wellr:

It's not easy being a hater when you ignore facts and only use fake news narratives to shade the groups you hate.

    Approved the thread.
  • No they aren't. Red Velvet has nearly 50m paid playlisting for Spotify and couldn't maintain 1m daily streams for their latest comeback for more than a week. They also departed the Apple Global charts after just 3 days.

Exo and Aespa is even worse.

Exo's last comeback DFTF is near 10 months old and has just 36m streams. That's terrible.

Queendom is 7 months old and is sporting a pretty poor 60m streams. That's not slaying. RV also just had a comeback, again with huge paylisting, and is struggling in the mid 6m ML range lol.

Their current pace estimates they will depart the Spotify Global 200 sometime in the next 10 days.

  •

Red Velvet's Psycho has near 300M streams, same as Fancy, TWICE's best performing song on Spotify that was released half a year earlier.

Aespa's Next Level sits on 119M streams, Itzy's MITM that was released around the same time sits on 119M streams too.

Lol, nice try, hater. Now scoot off, :siptear:

  • Who's saying EXO werent successful internationally? Stan twt? :cursing:

    That's completely, utterly ridiculous.

Aside from BTS, internationally EXO were the biggest boy group for YEARS, many years. Even bigger globally than Bigbang, never mind other bgs.

  • What’s the current Spotify streams for rv fmr? Is it still in Spotify global 200?

  • Twice has 4 songs over 200m sreams... What about RV?? I mean even flop scientist already has over 58m streams whereas queendom which was released 3 month earlier still sitting at 60m stream.

  • That’s one song. And Twice without a comeback are sitting at 10 million monthly listeners while Red Velvet isn’t even close. Twice do way better digitally on Spotify and Apple Music even with RV’s huge play listing.

  • Lol these bitter onces coming for red velvet’s charting and success. They’re doing great on spotify, accept that

  • I admit exo and red velvet have a bigger legacy but their current performance is lackluster

  • You're comparing a song from 3 years ago which was their last before a huge break with nothing to stream.

Compare more recent numbers where Twice The Feels had 35m plr peak compared to RV peaking currently at 45m.

The Feels has about 33 million more streams than Feel My Rhythm, Queendom entire EP and Like Water entire EP combined.

Twice since dropping Fancy had title tracks

    Feel Special(237)

    More & More(146)

    I Can't Stop Me(225m)

    Alcohol Free(123m)

    The Feels(177m)

    Scientist(58)

+a countless b-sides and even 2 Japanese albums with singles in that time. Psycho had nothing competing for Streams since 2019 at all. As stated also Queendom did really poorly on Spotify. Twice also spent over 110 days on the Global 200 and RV falls off usually in a couple of weeks.

They also sit at 10m ML's with no release in the last 4-@@@1a93a80c-7a97-4d5a-bada-e62f84d0b802@@@ months, while RV is struggling at like 6.6m during a full comeback with 45m playlisting lol.

  • Lol these bitter onces coming for red velvet’s charting and success. They’re doing great on spotify, accept that

What are you talking about? OP was the first person to mention Twice, no one compared Twice and RV here until OP did for some odd reason.

Literally first reply disagreeing with OP and their response was 'yeah but Twice' so? Where we going from here?

  • Slaying lost its meaning

  • You guys look like clowns fighting for an international success that it isn't exactly something that great. Even Lisa and Rosé had better streams and numbers internationally.

Stop this fight when the position for this success is not even the first position.

1m streams a day? Wow, what an amazing feat :woow:

  • People will always dismiss things that don't fit their narrative. If they want to dismiss a groups success they will.

Case and point, the people who push the "paved the way" bs, dismissing all the success and hard work of the people who came before because it doesn't fit their narrative.

  • :whatb: Why're all these Onces popping up in a thread that was against haters shading groups like RV, EXO and Aespa who hadn't been doing that bad at all internationally over the years, far from it, and certainly not as bad as those haters tried to push?

I admit exo and red velvet have a bigger legacy

At least you got it. Haters try to sell groups like these never did well internationally. Obvious lie :ragec:

RV is growing to 7M monthly listeners. No doubt that'll become more and more if they keep up activities and comebacks. Before hiatus they were good at Spotify too.

Same for EXO and Big Bang if they have a good comeback with the whole group again.

  • You're comparing a song from 3 years ago which was their last before a huge break with nothing to stream.

They also sit at 10m ML's with no release in the last 4-5 months, while RV is struggling at like 6.6m during a full comeback with 45m playlisting lol.

:teeheek::pepe-hehe: Just stop, you Red Velvet hater. I had to put my glass away to not spill anything from laughing. If I'd meet you face to face, I wouldnt slap you in the face Will Smith style, no, I would laugh and laugh in your face for 10 min, then stop, look at you again and laugh again until I got a cramp. Oh, you.

Poor TWICE. In the dungeon with no activities a la Blackpink. If only they would've gotten a major US push to help them grow in the US and in the West, like concerts and an English MV, then they couldve - oh, wait 8o

Now, to spare those Onces to misunderstand and feel attacked again (unless theyre just looking for any excuses to hate bash... :| ), I reply without 'dangerous' comparisons: RV have always been in the top group with monthly listeners in Spotify long before Psycho. Theyre nearing 7M monthly listeners now, more than 97% of all other K-pop groups. And with their activities this year, they keep growing.

But ty for your concern, hater, your obsession is appreciated, keep following them closely.

Also keep an eye out for Aespa EXO and Big Bang comebacks, you will LOVE how they all grow in Spotify ;-)

  • It depends on what you consider to raze and fail. if you compare RV with twice they are less, but if you compare them with the vast majority of groups they are at the top, the same for exo and aespa there are those who are above them but there are more who are below

  • Making a fool out of yourself. Go stream your faves, their views and streams are tragic. If they weren't you wouldn't have stuck this in anon.

Sicne when you got slapped down with facts on the main forum you wouldn't be able to throw a tantrum. It's not Once's or Twice's fault RV are struggling on Spotify, Apple and Youtube.

Also US concerts? Did you forget Red Velvet had those in 2019, 8 NA shows before Twice ever stepped foot in the US oops. Or we ignoring that? It's not Twice's fault Republic Records wanted to sign them and no one wanted RV.

    It's not Twice's fault RV's push failed.

Oh and btw it's nice you're trying to suggest Twice is only doing well since they had an Eng' song? Unfortunate timing for you since your faves just had another Japanese song and it utterly tanked. Couldn't stay in Line music top 50 for more than a day and isn't even inside the Recochoku or Spotify JP top 200.

Oops. Wonder why your logic ain't working for RV? Lol. Remember OP it was YOU who brought Twice up completely unprovoked so don't play the vicim.

  • can't believe you're being serious. rv ain't even close to twice. you're embarassing yourself.

  • Destroying in question, Savage spent 6 days on the official Apple Music Global 100

right now. Read my post carefully. Other gg drop off the chart like flies. Here see it for urself with receipts. Next Level is coming for a year now, and it's still charting in 10 countries where The Feels from twice comes 5 months later but still charting less with 4 countries. The Feels where is jyp stan touted as the most international successful gg song. Don't even compare ITZY songs from 1 year time. They don't chart anymore. Savage released

The same time with Loco, and it's actually destroying loco. Loco album only chart in 1 country where savage still chart in 8 countries. Same with song.

    aespa Chart Positions on iTunes/Spotify/YouTube

    ITZY Chart Positions on iTunes/Spotify/YouTube

    TWICE Chart Positions on iTunes/Spotify/YouTube

  • Yes, they are slaying.

    Are they the top? No.

Are they doing better than 90-95% of other groups? Yes.

  • Compared to the other big 3 like hybe, YG & SM they are at the bottom tier

  • Ooohh

    Fight fight fight

  • Just checked and Exo, Red Velvet nor Aespa are inside the Spotify 200 artist chart.

Their total days on the chart are.

    RV have 4 days.

    Exo have 0 days.

    Aespa have 0 days.

    Comparing to some other groups.

    BTS have 163 days.

    Blackpink have 163 days.

    Twice have 163 days.

    Stray Kids have 79 days.

Where is the slayage? 4 days for those groups combined? It looks like RV will fall out of the top 200 in the coming days also.

  • Spotify is not the only measurement of international success like aespa are killing it on youtube music and Apple music just ginna casually forget that? Oh because it doesn't fit your narrative.

  • Maybe I'm wrong, but I noticed there's a lot of real hate in kpop among kpop fans and fandoms and people resenting it when other groups besides their bias are successful. I come from an entirely different music scene, so kpop still takes some getting used to.

I don't get why so often if groups don't get the results that BTS and Blackpink get they're treated as losers. Or why there's so much strife between fandoms about details that to me are of little importance.

I like to factcheck, so after reading posts in this thread, I went news hunting. What I found:

=> In 2018, EXO were no. 2 with Monthly Listeners, Red Velvet no. 4 and Bigbang no. 5 (according to a reddit post)

=> In Apr 2019, Blackpink were no. 1 in ML, Red Velvet no. 3, EXO no. 5, GIdle no.6 and Bigbang no. 11 => see 20 Most Popular K-Pop groups On Spotify

=> In Sep 2019, Red Velvet were no. 3 and GIdle no. 4 gg in ML => see Top 10 K-pop Girl Groups With The Most Monthly Listeners

=> In Jan 2020, Red Velvet became the 3rd kpop group after BTS and Blackpink to hit 5 mln monthly listeners in Spotify => see this Allkpop article

=> In Dec 2020, Red Velvet were the no. 5 most streamed K-pop Artist according to Spotify, EXO no. 6 and GIdle no. 10 => see Spotify Reveals Top K-Pop Artists Of 2020

I couldn't see Bigbang in that last list. But from what I understand, they haven't had a comeback for years, so that made the difference, probably.

I don't know the background of the discussions. But if I check the news over the years, then groups like Red Velvet, EXO and GIdle have been underestimated if people say they have no presence in Spotify. They do, and even ranked high for years.

They might have dipped the last year, like Bigbang.

But GIdle are having a hit song that also does well internationally, Bigbang has a new release soon, and Red Velvet last I checked stood at 6.9M monthly listeners. If they were at 6.6M a few days ago, then it's likely they cross 7M soon.

Why are people treating groups that don't get BTS or Blackpink numbers as trivial or losers? Sure, it'd be nice if all kpop groups had 37M monthly listeners like BTS. But BTS are 1 of a kind.

Doesn't mean we can't celebrate other kpop groups that do well on their own, let's do that instead of the constant fighting over details.

  • Spotify is not the only measurement of international success like aespa are killing it on youtube music and Apple music just ginna casually forget that? Oh because it doesn't fit your narrative.

It is more important than those, way bigger userbase. And stop with slayage/killing i t lol, the overreactions please
