Lies JYP/JYPE fans tell themselves

  • If anything goes wrong or people dare to criticise the company and/or JYP, you have these people come out the woodwork on here and on twitter, reddit etc spouting the same things like clockwork.

    1. Any time there's a disparity in terms of quality, budget, promotions, it's always because of the divisions. "Blame the divisions" they say.

Do people even know how the division system works? Do they think the divisions keep all the money groups in said division make and then have free reign to reinvest as they see fit (lol)? Or do they logically think for a minute and realize there are head honchos that will decide where they want the money to go and which direction they want the company to move in? They know which groups they want at the forefront, they know who they want to push. This will be decided above the head of the divisions. If they for example want Stray Kids front and center now and see their division flagging in some aspect, they will do something about it. Fans are liking their b-sides? Give them more money and resources to make better MV's for them.

Where the money goes. Where the resources go. Where the best staff go. Some people really think the big dogs at JYPE give the divisions free reign over this and therefore the entire direction the company moves in. What company would ever run like that.

    2. "JYP isn't even in the company anymore/is not involved"

Okay, other than the fact that he is still the largest shareholder, the creative director and pretty much involved in all the groups one way or another? Braindead statement people like to throw around for someone that is still the most important person at the company. How he thinks will be more representative of how the company is thinking overall more than anyone else around.

    3. JYPE are the best in treating idols right, emphasis on character and how JYP cares about this.

History dictates that even though idols like JYP, so many leave as they believe JYPE is stifling their careers. it's the best example of how they don't treat their artists the best, not even in comparison to the others. No company uses and throws away idols as quickly.

    4. JYPE treat their GG's better.

The lie that is based on one example and it's Twice and Got7. An incredibly unique example as they both came out at a time JYPE was struggling for money, could only really push one to a large extent and the very unsurprising conclusion was that they pushed the group that unexpectedly became the most popular group in Korea and Japan within a year of debut. Shocking right? Twice being pushed also meant Twice being massively overworked as JYPE needed money, compare that to how cushy the 4th gen have it. 2PM have been one of the most privileged groups within the company whilst Wonder Girls are nowhere. Stray Kids and Itzy have been level footing for years, with Itzy starting stronger so got more attention at the start just as any company would do.

    Approved the thread.
  • GOT7 fans have been jealous and insecure about Twice for a long time and they've already done a pretty good job of making JYP look like a supervillain

hell kpop fans shit on him more than they do on the literal criminal YG

  • Itzy & Twice are flopping bcs of JYP mistreatment and lack of promo

  • If they for example want Stray Kids front and center now and see their division flagging in some aspect, they will do something about it. Fans are liking their b-sides? Give them more money and resources to make better MV's for them.

did you meet Stray Kids yesterday? Because they always had MVs or special content for bside, even if on a low budget lol

Twice fans have returned the favour when it comes to newer JYPE groups so balance has been restored to the universe

  • The thing is, there isn't any disparity in terms of quality, budget, promotions between their current korean groups nowdays, as much as the fandoms like to vitimize their faves.

  • Not sure where y'all see all this privilege for only one group but ok, all of them have US company, high budget MVs (even tho Twice MVs sucks, still very expensive lol), same level on korean TV and all of those things. Don't come with that "oh but x don't have their album restocked", yeah none of them have, JYPE in general sucks at restock, just search a little

  • Me: Give them more money and resources to make better b-side MV's

You: They've always had b-side MV's even on low budget, do you even follow Stray Kids.

    Are you seeing the disconnect

maybe due to the fact that the MVs and bside are consumed? :suure:

  • Got7 fans love to victimise I used to Stan both twice and got7 back in 2016_2017 and I was a causal fan of other groups (exo, bts etc) too and I always envy the promo got7 used to get. They were literally everywhere. They were well promoted and had high quality mvs. While twice was always overworked.

Same case with skz and itzy right now. Skz don't even look like a jyp group. Jyp just want to push skz as their main money maker so once twice's contract ends it doesn't leave a bad impression on the shareholders.

There definitely is. I can only imagine you fall on one side if this is how you see it

  • I was waiting for more compiratory theories in the comments about how JYPE is sabotaging their other groups in favor of Stray Kids, but there's only 2

  • Funny that a group that has been promoting their b-sides since debut, have their b-sides consumed more.

    No correlation there. Definitely not.

a discography full of good songs made it

  • 4. JYPE treat their GG's better.

couldn't have said this better. It sucks but it isn't suprising that companies prefer the groups that bring them more profit. This is the case with almost every company. I feel like some kpop fans are too young and naive to understand this.

This has been very obvious. JYPE has put out multiple articles onto Naver about the recent Billboard charting trying to mediaplay it as much as possible to show that the company have now "made it" in the US and the face of that is Stray Kids. JYP himself came out and reiterated this point, that they've now made it there through Stray Kids with no mention of Twice.

They need to diversify away from Twice and show the shareholders that as well, so I can imagine some more devaluing of Twice is to come in the next few months.
