Why do Kpop stans obsess with labeling their idols' sexuality?

Most idols are straight but I will get jumped if I say it on twitter

I feel like LGBTQ+ fans often times seek acceptance and representation from their favorite idols,and this is one of the distasteful ways they do it,by searching for the ''gay crumbs'' in every action of their faves

Even as someone who is part of this community,I find this forcing of the ''gay agenda'' quite cringe.

Because most fans don't have braincells and like to call everybody gay. The worst is when they call members who have literally dated women gay, like people calling heechul gay even though he only talks about his past girlfriends

The silly things fans get their undies in a bunch over. I couldn't care less what somebody's sexual orientation is and is none of my business who they date/sleep with. It's always the little things.

not people here blaming the lgbtq community, if anything it comes out of the fetishization of same sex couples that companies has capitalized on along with the so called bl series. The labels push out the fanservice to the target fans, young straight females and then they go ahead and label idols and actors.

Agreed. I am bi but I don't need validation from idols when it comes to my sexuality. I feel like people who need their faves to be gay must be quite insecure about themselves, or just have way too much wishful thinking.

K pop is also the wrong industry to look for when it comes to LGBT representation. So people desperately come up with theories because Holland aside, there is nothing concrete.

There are also a lot of straight fans who can't bear the thought of idols with a woman/ man who isn't them as well, so play the "they are all gay" card.
