i keep seeing mys talk abt how aespa is going to be the next group to blow up in the west, but i highly doubt it. i feel like if they tour, they'd prob do well but i doubt non-kpop fans would listen/care abt them. their sound is just not the sound for the west and except for karina, i dont think the us would care abt the members either. also the name: aespa? and their concept with kwangya and everything? i feel like everything that makes the girls likeable to their fans prevents them from ever becoming popular in the west.

I mean hey anything can happen, aespa has a fast rise that none 4th gen groups have so far
I think ppl say this bc they remind them of bp looks wise. Both fashionable with individuality. You can tell sm took some notes from bp with aespa marketing
But bp blew up bc of their music which is very gp friendly for western fans. Aespa doesn’t have that advantage at all
The biggest thing that will hold them back is the sm sound, bc that is the least successful out of the big 4. Ppl don’t like sm crazy sound. But if sm get them something like rv bad boy they have a chance… idk if they will though
In all aespa seems like they are more likely to flourish in Asia. China they have been doing good there and they show potential in Japan.
Although sm wants them to be popular in the west I think they made a group that appeals to Asia much more

karina? it's ningning. when they were in new york ningning was definitely the best received one out of them 4. she was even confused, she's not used to it. that was kind of expected, she has western friendly visuals and has a warm personality. i'm not into their music and not into solo stanning but if i solo stanned i'd stan ningning

idk theres a difference between a girl who apologized and almost cried after finding out abt aave and genuinely didnt know and someone who gets "carried away" saying the n-word when shes supposed to be fluent and apparently spent time on stan twitter so def knows.

I wasn't talking about Ningning at any moment only Karina and the make-up affect because she doesn't look the same with professional make-up than light or non make-up. Karina off stage (light makeup and casual clothes) would fit in europe, cities like nyc or LA, 100%? obviously not but she would be considered attractive there anyway. So let's agree to disagree.
