I voted real mail. I personally used to send out wax stamped letters hand written in cursive. I always enjoyed how sending those out as they would always elicit a response - over the years I’ve gotten lazy with the process, which is probably why so many of my friends and family appreciated it since you can see the work and time dedicated into the letters.
I think you should send a physical letter/mail. If you wanna guarantee that he receives it maybe attach tracking to it? This still doesn’t guarantee that he reads it tho, but at least you’d know that he received it.

ok so i want to send "fanmail" to someone who notoriously responds (not a kpop idol lmao), but i don't know if i should write an actual letter or use email.
the reason i'm having this debate with myself is because last year this dude was run off the internet over stupid fucking shit. literally he straight up retired bc people blew a small thing WAY out of fucking proportion. and i'm not sure if he checks his fanmail anymore (i've heard he does) but i'm also not sure if he checks his email for that stuff (bc he was sent death threats etc. which btw, were so fucking unnecessary).
anyways, if it's to his email i'll know he got it but if i send it as a letter there's no real guaranteed way of knowing. but at the same time a handwritten letter is much more genuine and will probably (in practice) be more expressive and show more effort, yk? what i want to say isn't lighthearted at all and is rather a deep thank you, so i think something handwritten is more fitting for that. he'd also be more likely to respond, though i'm not too sure since the incident + who knows how deep i'll get in the letter lol.
opinions?
[also please don't speculate who, that's not the point of this thread (though it should be obvious depending on your level of exposure to twitter), i just need opinions as to what i should do. thank you]
When I saw the title I was going to ask whether it was a romantic letter or a non-romantic letter. I didn't know people still used actual mail for things other than romantic letters and bills.

this may sound dumb but how do you track a written letter in a small envelope ufhvufhbui

You can send real mail through Certified Mail. It costs a bit, but the recipient has to sign for the mail before receiving it. And you get notified when they have signed for it.
It'd be a little weird to have fanmail go through Certified Mail though.
