Jihyo's so precious and humble. And she doubts the power of Detective Onces!

I made the below comment the other day on the digital thread - none of the shows OST's have done well so far compared to lets say My Beloved Summer, but with the current airing dramas I feel like it has the most going for it/potential in terms of a song doing well. Nowadays a big charting OST is more dependent on how much you can pull in the younger crowd so ratings are no longer the best indicator, whereas before when a wider demographic were watching TV was more obvious.
Bit annoyed I read about this yesterday on twitter, it was a pleasant surprise watching Hospital Playlist and then being hit with a Twice song out of nowhere. Will probably catch up on the show tonight or tomorrow so curious to hear how it sounds.
QuoteOn the kdrama side of things, looks like JTBC might finally be out of its rut ratings wise.
Thirty-Nine is a midweek drama and already above 5% in viewership. As a comparison, Snowdrop was a weekend drama and never got above 3.9%. Can imagine Son Ye-jin is a big factor in that. Not really my kind of show so haven't watched but can imagine the story will do well with the TV watching demographic. Its weekend drama in Forecasting Love and Weather is nearing 8% already 4 episodes in. Both of these are on Netflix so you can really tell the Jisoo allure made Disney pay big bucks for the show to be part of their launch in Asia.
Twenty-Five Twenty-One on tvn has started strongly as well, nearing 9% already 4 episodes in. Been watching this one and it has been pretty good so far. Also no.1 on Netflix Korea ahead of Forecasting Love and Weather. Probably has the most potential for a decent charting OST.
Also was very random to see Fan BingBing will be having a guest appearance in a JTBC show next month, will be interesting to see what the reaction is to that. I assume she can't work in China anymore.
