Marriage used to be equalish give and take, men worked outside and women did house work

In modern economy, 2 incomes are required for the household. Women work as much as men outside the house but men don't pull their weights when it comes to housework. Definitely not in more conservative countries.

There is literally no advantage for women to get married, they just get extra maid duties.
