Add it to the long list of industries YG has been investing in on their 2 year investing spree.

There's many reasons they'd be interested in blockchain. Their interest in NFT probably being the main one.

Another reason is that YGPlus is the main digital/physical music and merch distributor for both YG and hybe, as well as many other labels. Blockchain could be used in detecting counterfeits by associating unique identifiers to products, documents and shipments, and storing records associated to transactions that cannot be forged or altered.

i wonder if this is a way to create an alternative streaming platform on the blockchain

but way more than just streaming

should allow users to store/collect their individual albums, pics, merch, tickets, etc. virtually (as well as physically)

each item is uniquely identifiable on a blockchain

this should lead to easier buying and trading of unique, authentic items in any community worldwide

would also plug in well with metaverse projects out there

fans likely won't have to use it if they don't want - they can stick with just physical stuff

an idea worth trying if it is executed well
