The Korean athlete he praised in his Insta story was disqualified and China won gold for that event, many people were alr protesting that it was an unfair disqualification( I read that the Korean association is even trying to sue them) so the these Chinese netz are angry I guess ( cos they believe the disqualification was deserved) that Namjoon showed his support to the Korean athlete.

Yup there's a deep seeded hatred between our nations for many decades. Certain situations over recent years has rekindled that, and it is unlikely to change as more and more younger generations of Korean grow more hostile towards China and unfortunately Chinese people as a whole to the point China is surpassing Japan in hate. Ressons for this is Japan and Korea have a good trade relationship and tourism as well as recent military pacts. Whereas China has been increasingly unreasonable with regards to trade and cultural exchange as well as distasteful political stances towards us. Then add on the numerous cultural appropriation claims. Plus the over zellous wumao="brain washed Chinese citizens who pushed CCP propoganda and are generally disrespectful whenever they go" they add fuel to that fire more as a decent number of them that do travel abroad would openly engage in vandalism or blatant disrespect for the country and culture think Logan Paul but dozens of them. This all culminated into today's Korea where even young children find Chinese people undesirable. It's sad too because the right wing nationalist way of thinking wasn't something the majority adhered too but lately its becoming more common. For the west mainly America think of it like Trump and his followers but more and more if your constituents are becoming trumpers including your family and more "progressive" friends are starting to slowly convert. This situation is driven by the CCP and unfortunately the everyday innocent Chinese citizen will suffer the consequences of this shit since unfortunately they can't be easily distinguished from the rest
