Which are the biggest fandoms on AKP?

    If you want to know which are the biggest, most active fandoms on AKP, there's now an easy way to determine (in case you might have had any doubts or people telling you otherwise ;-) )

    Check the guilds section, which fandoms have their own guild section.

    Check the latest 'Top 10 stars of the month for January'.


    Fans of groups that have their own guild section: EXO, NCT, TXT, BTS, Stray Kids, TWICE, Blackpink


    Of course, this'll only show which fandoms were biggest, most active the past year or so. To learn what's the current state in 2022, we'll simply take a look at the 'top 10 stars of January allkpop' poll results:


    BTS > Blackpink > TXT > TWICE > NCT > EXO > Taeyeon > Kep1er = Stray Kids > Treasure


    As was to be expected, every group that has its own guild fandom section on AKP is represented - and will extremely likely be represented in any follow up month polls if those are conducted regularly, regardless whether the groups had a comeback or were inactive.

    There are the odd flukes, like Taeyeon, Kep1er and Treasure, those might be considered current FOTMs (flavor of the months) and likeliest to be swapped for other groups that will be majorly active at that time. But we'll see.


    If we view the January poll results in terms of company (and company stans) representation on AKP, then this is the order (between '( )' didn't have their own guild section):


    1. HYBE: #1, #3

    2. YG: #2, (#10)

    3. JYP: #4, #8

    4. SM: #5, #6, (#7)


    YG is the odd duckling here, since Blackpink is pretty much hard carrying the whole YG brand and presence.


    What does this mean?


    - Like some people have already stated in the past, since no poll is ever truly objective but subject to bias, we can safely assume that polls involving groups (and their members) of the most active fandoms will lean heavily in favor of the (members of the) groups that have the biggest, most active fandoms on AKP, and that we can predict who'll come out on top most of the times if it comes to a clash between fandoms of the most represented groups (on AKP) - whether that's a clash in polls or in discussions.


    - Since every fandom has company stans that also often stan multiple groups of the same company, and since bigger, more active fandoms will simply have more company stans too, this is the ranking order of the companies with the most company stans on AKP:


    1. HYBE

    2. JYP

    3/4. SM/YG ***


    *** since BP is hard carrying YG, if you think that a considerable amount of Blinks are also company stans (liking the company and/or multiple YG artists), then they're on a shared spot with SM. If you think Blinks are a separate breed, then it's SM on #3 and YG on #4.


    Let's see how the poll results in the upcoming months will turn out (or change)! :-)

    Blinks are a large presence as both the January poll and the guild section shows, I'm not so sure if they're YG stans. If so, I think there's fewer company stans among Blinks than average, you hardly ever hear them about other YG artists.


    I think people underestimate how many JYP stans there are: multiple JYP fandoms have their own guild section, JYP groups score high in the January poll and when you check the forum, there's always a large, active presence of JYP group stans that flock together and who openly and frequently support multiple JYP groups.


    To my own surprise, Aespa has a far smaller fandom on AKP than expected: Aespa fans don't have their own guild section, and Aespa didn't make it into the January poll. That in itself is telling enough.

    Which makes one wonder, if the many threads about Aespa are actually mostly started by Aespa fans themselves or by fans of other groups and even rivaling groups of other companies (or trolls and antis)?

    Admit it or not people are interested in aespa just look at aespa's bop/flop threads which having the most participants

    Of that there's no doubt. Just look at the amount of threads involving Aespa. Aespa are the hottest trending, not only in Korea and on Korean charts, but also one of the hottest discussion topics here, by friend and foe alike.


    The question is if that's because of Aespa fans or not. Looking at the guild section and the January poll, there are 7 and more fandoms that have a more active, larger number of fans.


    The conclusion has to be that, although the amount of actual Aespa stans is far less than many other fandoms on AKP, Aespa themselves are talked (and fought) about by a far larger amount of non-stans - casuals, fans of other groups and other companies, antis, trolls - than average and than non-fans on average discuss most other groups.

    I have to agree, I also don't think there are many Blinks that are YG stans, at the least there's less than average.


    I find it odd too, that so many people don't realize how many JYP stans there are, seeing how many fans actively support and promote multiple JYP groups as their main biases, JYP girl groups as well as boy groups.

    Maybe because JYP used to have the smallest fandoms compared with SM and YG groups. But that was in 2nd gen times, since 3rd gen that isn't the case anymore, and now only HYBE has more stans than there are JYP stans. At least here on AKP.


    If there were truly more Aespa stans, even ones that were SM stans first and Aespa stans second, then Aespa would have their own guild section, like the other large fandoms on AKP. But it's an interesting argument, let's see how the February poll will turn out.

    all aespa stans are sm company stans or success stans. When they have to choose one they always choose their mains not aespa. Mama voting is proof. Make two polls on akp. Ask sm stans to vote for all their faves in the first. Ask them to vote for only one in the second. You will find that all aespa stans are sm stans or success stans whose main faves are not successful or trendy anymore so they are token stanning aespa.

    Even if this is anon, let's not go black&white extreme, that only undermines arguments.

    I'm pretty sure I've seen Aespa stans on AKP that like Aespa for Aespa and not its success, and I'm pretty sure I've seen Aespa stans that have Aespa as there #1 main bias and that have other not-SM groups as there other biases and no SM groups.


    But it sure makes an interesting point. It sure would explain why for example Aespa and MYs don't have their own guildsection yet.

    Many of the JYP stans that have publicly shown and stated they really like TWICE, ITZY and other JYP groups, for example, have TWICE as there #1 main bias, and in the January poll you see TWICE back at a firm, strong #4 position.


    But when you check the posters who really like Aespa - excluding all the fake fans/trolls, antis, obvious other-group stans that were bored and others like them that like to dive into every Aespa discussion even when they don't stan Aespa. But it's very likely that you'll find far less people that have Aespa as their #1 main bias, at least far less than there are JYP stans and HYBE stans that have TWICE or BTS as their #1 main bias.


    Aespa seems to have a larger proportion of casuals and multistans for who Aespa is only their #2 or #3 (or even lower) bias, than is the case for the other top groups.

    Aespa don't have "few" fans on AKP, it's just that people who like them are mostly SM stans and 95% of the time they will pick other SM artists, especially NCT and Taeyeon, over Aespa. Other Aespa stans are multis, too, and will pick other groups over Aespa. I can name like 5 users total who solely stan Aespa on here. Sm stans will still defend Aespa to death, and make these threads you are talking about (most Aespa threads on main are started by a self proclaimed company stan lol) but they will never prioritize Aespa in voting and such.


    Blinks on the other hand are here for BP and BP only. I can think of just 2 blinks on here who stan other YG groups and in general YG stans don't even like BP. Blinks are quiet because they don't have a comeback, but they still overpower every other fandom besides Armys. BP also have a lot of casual interest on here - Lisa teaser threads were the most reacted to by far, and she had over 300 votes on BOP/FLOP, just like 1-2 less than Aespa. As for Armys, I think they are company stans in that they root for HYBE , but they don't necessarily stan every HYBE group and would never pick them above BTS in anything

    Hybe stans aren't accepting the fact that you can have more than one group as your favorite. In my case for example, as I'm an sm stan I only like their groups.y top3 are NCT, aespa, EXO but i like all SM groups. Going to stan smnbg and nct new unit when they debut.

    This is absolutely correct

    long essay about aespa and mys but the irony is you guys don't know the exact story but still continue making assumptions. The reason we don't have guild section yet because more than half of our guild members are inactive and our ex leader who carried more than half of the akorns needed for the sub is MIA. I don't know the reason but that is the reality. Maybe they will come during aespa comeback or maybe not.


    MAMA voting were low because mys already knew that aespa will grab at least 2 trophies and knowing the nature of the fanbase which is lazy they don't give a damn with this. Thankfully, the voting power are improved nowadays looking at SMA they're able to Tripled the amount of voting under a week in pressure knowing aespa trophies wasn't secured like MAMA. So yes mys are not weak voters as long as they are motivated to do so.
