Which are the biggest fandoms on AKP?

Of course, this'll only show which fandoms were biggest, most active the past year or so. To learn what's the current state in 2022, we'll simply take a look at the 'top 10 stars of January allkpop' poll results:

BTS > Blackpink > TXT > TWICE > NCT > EXO > Taeyeon > Kep1er = Stray Kids > Treasure

As was to be expected, every group that has its own guild fandom section on AKP is represented - and will extremely likely be represented in any follow up month polls if those are conducted regularly, regardless whether the groups had a comeback or were inactive.

There are the odd flukes, like Taeyeon, Kep1er and Treasure, those might be considered current FOTMs (flavor of the months) and likeliest to be swapped for other groups that will be majorly active at that time. But we'll see.

If we view the January poll results in terms of company (and company stans) representation on AKP, then this is the order (between '( )' didn't have their own guild section):

1. HYBE: #1, #3

2. YG: #2, (#10)

3. JYP: #4, #8

4. SM: #5, #6, (#7)

YG is the odd duckling here, since Blackpink is pretty much hard carrying the whole YG brand and presence.

What does this mean?

- Like some people have already stated in the past, since no poll is ever truly objective but subject to bias, we can safely assume that polls involving groups (and their members) of the most active fandoms will lean heavily in favor of the (members of the) groups that have the biggest, most active fandoms on AKP, and that we can predict who'll come out on top most of the times if it comes to a clash between fandoms of the most represented groups (on AKP) - whether that's a clash in polls or in discussions.

- Since every fandom has company stans that also often stan multiple groups of the same company, and since bigger, more active fandoms will simply have more company stans too, this is the ranking order of the companies with the most company stans on AKP:

1. HYBE

2. JYP

3/4. SM/YG ***

*** since BP is hard carrying YG, if you think that a considerable amount of Blinks are also company stans (liking the company and/or multiple YG artists), then they're on a shared spot with SM. If you think Blinks are a separate breed, then it's SM on #3 and YG on #4.

Let's see how the poll results in the upcoming months will turn out (or change)!

This company stan logic is so stupid. BTS are going to be topping this poll no matter whatever comeback they have because they have the biggest fandom. Armys voted for BTS, not for Hybe.

Just swap Hybe for BTS in the poll and see if the votings will stay the same

Aespa are shaping up to be one of the best selling ggs physically and people here are still trying to argue that they don't have a fandom lol.

Anyway, hybe stans will never admit it but they indeed have the strongest presence in allkpop. It was obvious since that thread about bopxflop threads stats.

I don't think guild is the most accurate way to determine but overall it's probably true. This forum has a lot of blinks most of which are inactive (either barely posting or left until next comeback) but they are definitely only second to army.

The Guild Section is far from an accurate representation of which fandoms are the biggest. The aespa guild will likely surpass the TOTAL amount of posts made in the BLINK Guild Section despite people here insisting they're a "small" fandom. Additionally, most BLINKs don't post in there for whatever reason. They're like last of all the guild sections when it comes to posts yet they made it to #2 on the January voting. BLINKs here are silent but deadly.

We're not just taking ARMY here, if you check the guild section and the January poll, there are two HYBE groups that have their own guild sections and that ended up high in the poll, BTS and TXT.

And when it comes to stans having a most positive view to a most negative view of the company of their bias, then this is the order:

HYBE > JYP > YG / SM

This is not even a point of discussion: of the Big 4, SM is the only company where large portions of the fandoms of their groups actively hated the company of their bias. Same for group rivalry, of the Big 4, fandoms of SM groups are the only ones where large numbers of fans actively hated or passionately disliked other groups of the same company, to the point of actively trying to sabotage those other groups. YG is a close second, there is little love lost between the fandoms of the various YG groups, and many Blinks really dislike the company.

In contrast, to ARMY Bighit = BTS and they know BTS are getting good care within the larger company HYBE. Same for fans of other HYBE groups, they see their groups flourish and taken good care of by the company (with the exception of Buddies, but GFriend's no part of HYBE anymore).

You hardly see any fans of HYBE groups hating the company or other HYBE groups. Same for fans of JYP groups for that matter.

And certainly not to the extent how fans of SM groups (and the past years fans of YG groups) have hated/disliked the company and other groups of the same company over the years.

Sorry, but that only shows that Aespa fans are the chattiest and love to hang out in their guild thread more. Having your own guild section is like a minimal threshold and not only that, Aespa didn't make it into the January poll Top 10.

Those two facts combined, Aespa/MYs not having their own guild section and Aespa not even making the January poll Top 10 make a very strong, hard to deny case, that while Aespa might be one of the most discussed groups at AKP, the actual core of hardcore stans or MYs that have Aespa as their #1 ultimate bias might be far smaller than is the case for those other top groups.

This probably also means that when another hot group will pop up, knowing how casuals and multistans are and how easy they switch to other groups, that many of the current Aespa fans will flock to those. Like for example IVE or Kep1er, or the HYBENGG or YGNGG.

I think most of aespa stans in allkpop are SM stan but i don't think they will will choose other 4th gen. I'm surprised by Blackpink tho since many blinks are inactive here.

Not so sure about that. If you check Aespa's guildthread, then the majority of the ones posting there that don't have an Aespa/MY guildtag have a guildtag of groups that are not SM (even Midzy and Once).

That points far more to cross-company multistans and gg stans.

Even if I wasn’t an army, it’s pretty obvious that Hybe and JYP are the only companys who are yet to cross the line with criminal activities and Hybe edges out because of how much they invest into their acts.

Hybe’s only allegations so far are the nfts(being practiced by the big 3 too), expensive merch prices and foolishly sabotaging BE’s rollout.

This may sound awkward, but I think that criminal activities of the company hardly really bothers fans and is more something that matters to non-fans, and most of the times only as a weapon to be used to bash a company and provoke fans of that company's groups.

Like SM with his tax evasions, JYP with his fishy cult associations, or YG with their artists' drug issues.

If you look at most of the complaining, ranting and judging, then what determines how fans view their bias' company for the most part, is how that company treats their biases, whether fans think their biases are treated fairly and well, or if they think their biases are treated unjustly.

So far, ARMY and fans of other HYBE groups have the least to complain about their bias' company and are the most satisfied about how their biases are treated. And thus also look the most favorable towards their bias' company.

I already said because more than half of our guild members are currently INACTIVE and more than have of our guild funds is still in the hands of ex leader who inactive since last year. That's should answer your question why aespa doesn't have their own guild section and why they have low votes.

Aespa is token stanned by SM stans who finally has a group that are top in something and has the potential to rival BP and BTS in Korean charts. That’s why they kept using aespa and setting them up. But when it comes to voting, since there’s only one choice, these stans will vote for their ult and left aespa to dust. Imagine Kepler getting more votes than aespa..

I should've worded it better to clarify what I meant.

What I meant is that, despite the fact that half of the Aespa guild members are currently inactive, Aespa is still 1 of the groups appearing the most in all types of discussion threads, with lots of people supporting Aespa. While many of those people, non-MYs, are supportive and look positively upon Aespa, as the January poll shows that doesn't mean they'll vote for Aespa.

While I'm positive there are a lot of stans of SM groups supporting Aespa too - SM and JYP gg stans generally tend to like multiple girl groups of the same company, bg stans less so - I think it's far broader than that.

I think it's gg stans in general of which many like Aespa and who regard Aespa as 1 of the groups they bias or are supportive of.

When you check the Aespa thread in the guild section and check a lot of Aespa discussion threads, you'll see many girl crush and gg stans - Blinks, Once (even Midzy!), you name it - that are supportive of Aespa.

Whether that's because they're into girl crush, or like the Aespa esthetics, or because their own main bias is currently inactive or has disbanded, the results are that a lot of gg stans of all kinda girl groups have adopted Aespa and support them.

like I said in the first reply, people are interested in aespa admitted or not but not necessarily will vote for aespa since they have main bias hence the january poll showed that. Doesn't mean that akp aespa fans are 95% consisted of SM stan since half of our members are inactive now

Threads about JYP's new girl group getting flooded with Once and stans of other JYP groups, showing support and enthusiasm for the new JYP gg, have proven the point that at least on AKP, JYP stans really are the biggest, most active group of company stans next to HYBE stans.

It's also interesting to see that those denying the hardest that JYP stans are plenty around and who are calling fans of other Big 4 groups all company stans, very often hardcore stan multiple JYP groups themselves => hardcore JYP stans denying that JYP stans exist and constantly calling fans of non-JYP groups company stans is intriguing to see every time it happens.
