friendship vs love

  • whilst true in part what if you best friend also likes your crush?

what if your crush doesn't like you but your crush instead? shouldn't you be happy for your best friend?

you can't force someone to like you if they don't want to correct?

obviously what happens in middle high school isn't the be all and end of all of relationship (it can be but most of the time it's not)

  • if your crush were to become your best friend's girlfriend/boyfriend and all three of you are aware that you liked her/him, would you find it too awkward to be that close to them anymore or would you keep your friendship the same?

eeeehhhhh No hard feelings for sure. It would take awhile before resettle things but not too long! I'll be back to them after a few weeks haha

Edit: real talk though If I thought I was already in a bf gf relationship and then she upped and switched sides on her own, I wouldn't keep in touch with her, but if he purposely sabotaged me or tried to break up the relationship, then he's done.

If she can't choose, I'm going to back out. no point in breaking a friendship over a emotionally tangled subject.

Logic determines most in my life, if no wrongs were done but we were competing I'd let them. There is no reason to end a solid relationship over what could be. But if either wronged me then that's a factual reason to cut; it becomes logical and then boom, done. Heartache and stressing over what could have been is meaningless if one cannot.

if my best friends likes my crush and KNOWS i like them? boom. not friends.

and with the situation you mentioned i'm not gonna be happy with or for someone who double crossed me.

of course you can't force someone to like you. i'm just saying no matter what in this situation, choosing the crush on either side would never be okay.

  • keep the friendship, what was not meant to be... was not meant to be :wellr:

I had to swallow my feelings few times but it's better than feed yourself with "illusions" it is really important

    wow interesting...

I would never consider it double crossing but I guess each person is different

so then you would also accept the opposite that if you were the best friend and you knew your best friend liked a crush then you wouldn't go for or even reveal the crush to your friend since that would also be "boom not friends?"

  • keep the friend. love feels more intense in the moment and that's why when people make irrational decisions for love but friendship is more steady and reliable

yeah, i wouldn't even like them in the first place if my friend liked them. and even if i did i would find someone else.

  • but the heart wants what the heart wants no?

unless you believe in brain > heart?

this situationally (and i said this before) sounds like high school or middle school. if this was either my answer would be the same. the heart can want what it wants in high school but statistically it never lasts, therefore rendering what the heart wants essentially useless. so i would pick brain. this is 13 year old me's take on this and my current take on this.
