I wonder how IOI members in gugudan/weki meki/wjsn/DIA feel about Ive

  • Gugudan disbanded but Sejeong is actually doing pretty great. She has a new drama slated for early 2022, and it will be her fourth consecutive lead role! She's starring opposite Ahn Hyoseop.

She's also doing variety, and I hope for some more solo music for her in the future. I really liked "I'm". She is also composing and writing her own music and OSTs. I'm not worried for her.

Mina also went into acting (and MCing), she's had two lead roles recently (one drama is still currently airing) and she has another one set for 2022. Not worried for her either, as the public grew to like her during Music Core.

I'm disappointed for Doyeon. She could've been the IT girl. I'm not disappointed in her, but her company. They didn't push her enough in my opinion. But recently they've stepped it up and she's been booking roles (cames at first and then bigger roles as well), she's also a great model and a good host so I'm hoping she'll also turn in that direction and find success.

Yoojung is doing pretty good for Weki Meki, she's their ace and easily the most popular member and has great variety skills and I hope we get to see her hosting and appearing in shows even more.

DIA is in limbo and Chaeyeon deserves better. All of the members do. Thankfully, acting is saving yet another post I.O.I career and I've heard she's really good in her new drama.

WJSN are doing better than any of the groups I've previously talked about. They're mid-tier and their company is managing them okay. I wish they pushed Yeonjung's activities more, though.

  • Many of their fellow trainees failed even to debut, many still struggle, those who debuted couldn't find success, most will have huge debts to pay off.

Even in the survival shows, they have seen the fickleness of fame, not to mention the victims of vote manipulation.

If they have any sense, they would have seen all these and gained perspective, not to be overly awed by success or fazed by failures.

All that is true of any field in life, but idol industry, that's seen more accentuated, accelerated and amplified.

IOI girls are relatively in the top 10% of their industry, even if their subsequent idol groups did not succeed. Their individual careers and prospects are still better than 90% of idol trainees. Some like Sejeong, Chungha even in the top 3%.

Ive is just one song old, it is a strong start, but even then success is fickle.

So hopefully they should be sensible not to feel any resentment.

Think about the non-IOI members of those groups,

Already there are fingers pointed at Ive as being Wonyoung and friends.

So no need feel so deeply for IOI girls.
