Yes, a very popular user amongst a particular fandom who is still around, would peddle this narrative regularly and people would eat it up.This despite Armys reminding everyone that BTS had never released a promoted single without an album till that time.
This was the dark period after the release of On till Dynamite came out. BTS was written off on this forum and daily mocked. March to Aug 2020, those days were hellish on AKP for every Army. Then ofc Dynamite happened, shutting up many forever.
The digital thread at that time and even now was filled with gg stans being hell bent on proving BTS was not a digimon. Heck I remember a very "respected" poster on that thread/ex mod/ founder of the rival forum who would keep saying Spring Day was not really a gp hit in Korea and was only being held up on charts due to mass streaming. he was left confounded after it managed to flourish in the UL based 24 hits system. Today must be another day of cognitive dissonance for the likes of him who do not understand how SD got 5mn downloads. 
Regarding Dynamite, just a week before its release the digital experts did not even think it would make any noise on Kcharts or leave any impact cause their fave girl group's earlier Eng collab had not had an impact on the Kcharts. Funnily enough when that same gg had an Eng release after Dyna, just a week later, the same users started over hyping the shit out of it saying it can also pull a Dyna. Alas...sad days for our digital experts.

I remember those days. I wanted to join the forum some time after on but then I saw all the negativity towards bts and armys every single day with no rest. People these days are against trolls and say not to take them seriously but back then people would not only egg them on but join in on the fun and their threads would routinely get over 20 likes. It put me off this site for a long time.

It was pretty disgusting. A regular Army baiter was so popular that his fandom members even posted a thread in all seriousness asking him to return to the forum and accusing Armys of driving the "poor" guy off the forum by taking his daily comparison and bait threads seriously and jumping on him. The audacity.
