Idols Dancers are not inferiors

  • I remember watching Chaeyeon on SWf, and seeing her struggle and looked down upon because she is an idol dancer. People in the comments would say how she got “destroyed”. I use to think idol dancing is “amateur” compared to the open style/street dancers you see on “100 million dance studio” until i saw a video of those dancers covering female kpop choreography. They look kinda awkward and lack the gracefulness that idol dancers have

    They look a bit off

Not saying one is better than the other, they are both different types of styles. I personally prefer watching the gracefulness of idol dancing, but both are pretty cool. I would like to see the other girls on SWF try and pull off idol dancing well.

  • just so you know, many of the dancers on swf are the ones choreographing the idols dances.

but i do agree, idol dancer should not be looked down upon. of course professional dancer who focus only on dancing will be technically better.

Idols dancers focus of different aspects, having to sing, facial expression etc that is fine- that's a skill in and of itself.

  • they shouldn't be called inferior but it's true they're less experienced as they don't focus solely on dancing....that's understandable though as they're idols not professional dancers and they've gotta master a lot

  • well maybe the word inferior isn't the right word to use but on average a professional dancer will dance better than an idol dancer (on average!!!)

thus if we are talking solely about dancing then maybe one can argue that an average idol dancer is inferior to an average professional dancer???

  • pro dancers are generally better than idol dancers

idols are inferior dancers, if you want to use mean words

i don't think that's up for serious debate

but idols are generally better singers, rappers, speakers, actors, and celebrities than dancers

people follow idols for the entertainment package, not just dance skills

idols do idols things better and dancers do dancer things better

perfectly fine for people to hone different skills for their target audiences

  • Maybe in terms of “technique” yes, but when I see them try to cover idol dances, something just lacks.... like the softness and gracefulness. Like it doesn’t look as pleasing to my eye.

but we're not just referring to street dancers or backup dancers are we? the softness and gracefulness can be found in professional contemporary or ballet dancers just to name a few...I mean sure we can like what we like but that's a subjective interpretation

I don't personally have a preference one way or another...
