visual kei is a japanese rock genre from the 1990s.. lol it's known for the visuals (very unique for the time) but i love the music as it's beautifully made and just sounds so beautiful. check out malice mizer, dir en grey, and l'arc en ciel, they are like the 3 most popular vkei groups. it sadly died out after the 90s but there are defiantly some people who still take inspiration from it.
-
rap (in particular old school rap)

I mostly listen to rap/hip-hop and uk garage or 90s/00s music
if it counts as a genre: touhou music
-
these days, mainly jazz (everything from bebop to fusion to more contemporary scenes) and progressive/tech deathcore/death metal.
-
Pop,rock,Jpop,jrock and Metal.

I listen to many genres, but mostly whatever genre that derives from Psychedelic Rock music, Experimental Pop/Electronica and Britpop (the one with rock bands from the 90s).
I also love Vaporwave, in a "I can name plenty of albums" way.
-
Pop mainly 80's as that's the era I was a teen and listened to all the 80's hits.
-
Neo soul and alt hip hop

I don't think its a genre but I really go out of my way for songs that really play with the stereo soundscape. Mad respect to the producers that can unironically create a song that can shake the "deep seat" of my brain ( I dunno what to call it but conceptually its a core part of my sensory stability) Asymmetric soundscapes can get awkward really fast but producers that make it not awkward are auditory gods/goddesses
one good example of what I mean is the "8D" versions of some songs on youtube. But those lose points for originally being a straight symmetry soundscape manipulated to be asymmetric. -- of course it will be easier to balance if you just alternate evenly between left/right.
I would love to see if there is a song that was originally made to play with the 3d soundscape originally.

Britpop

Alternative rock and techno

Considering I only listen to kpop as of late so it's just that or silence

Iwould include country if it didn't have its...share of underlying issues. -
