Or even as a trend comparing Digital % vs. Official fan votes - the groups with fandoms stand out, against the soloists, whose official votes never match to their Melon UL digital popularity.
Lim Youngwoong is the only exception - but he is not Kpop.
Even soloists of popular groups like Rose, suffer in that, never mind pure soloists like IU or Heize.
Kpop awards indeed are skewed towards groups. Soloists who win, win despite that handicap.

You can’t compete with melon internal data no matter.
Even though they’ve calculated “digitals” this way using ULs…We already know at the very minimum they use things like total streams and time spent in top 10 etc apart from ULs 
In fact I think streams would have been a better indication than ULs for MMA. Because when that’s used a lot more MMA awards make sense.

so aespa will win rookie + group of the year - or here maybe judges will give rookie award to Lee Moojin to highlight that music scene is diverse, and aespa will just get female group of the year title
iu will win everything important, at least this is what you got when looking at stats without fan voting, and MAMA judges already show last year that they can quickly 'nerf' whole fan voting.

You can’t compete with melon internal data no matter.
Even though they’ve calculated “digitals” this way using ULs…We already know at the very minimum they use things like total streams and time spent in top 10 etc apart from ULs In fact I think streams would have been a better indication than ULs for MMA. Because when that’s used a lot more MMA awards make sense.
I’m pretty sure these calculations use cumulative ULs, which take into account 40% streams and 60% downloads, and that’s the same criteria for the digitals section of the awards.

I know it’s obvious they used cumulative ULs… that doesn’t change what I said. Melon uses a lot more criteria to determine who is the most successful digital act and looking at previous winners absolute streams and time spent on the chart were better indications 👀

Oh, I know they take into account streams through ULs, but where does the official melon criteria say they take in time on chart and other factors? Are you just basing it off previous winners? If you have any sources you could link, I’d be interested to read those!

Yes it’s guess work. What I was trying to say is we don’t know what criteria they use so these type of lists are misleading and will cause fandoms to fight with each other when results come out lol.
Melon only says they use “internal data” so at the very least we know anything available to the public isn’t the whole criteria.
