Why do we normalize discrediting a group's hard work?

  • Sadly there's ppl that will downplay the talent of a group and the group's hard work because they want their faves to be in that position and think a group's success is not deserved because their faves are superior and more talented, has the better music (to them) etc. So they say and do shitty things to discredit groups/artists out of this obsession with competition.

    Unfortunately yes. It's sad.

  • I am convinced people think bc they dont physically see the effort other groups put into their work it means none happened!!!!!

I remember a disgruntled BB fan in akp went through a spiral of discrediting SHINee's work bc they made a quick comeback after military discharge vs her fav that didnt.

Just bc you didnt hear about how hard an artist work on their stuff it doesnt mean it didnt happen

This too. This type of people don't seem to have an understanding mind that not even 10% of what happens in an idol life is seen on camera. Literally.

  • let's be contrarian for a sec

to be fair hard work means nothing...it's just a means to get to the ends...

lots of people everyday in real life work bloody hard just as kpop idols do...but if that hard work produces no great results...

you can study and study for a test and obtain only mediocre results because you didn't get the material or were less smart or blanked during a test but if that genius who didn't study who still got top grades...

thus I would argue in kpop all groups work hard...whether it be to debut, to learn to sing, rap, dance etc...but it's the end result that matters most when looking at it from a macro perspective

  • Totally, I'm just saying that just bc you don't like someone you are in the "right" to discredit them. I don't go bashing people bc i think they lack something, specially if I'm not a consumer of their work. It's the hate speech viewed as an personal opinion that is the problem.
