Sandal was formed by 4 high school girls at the Caless music school in Osaka in 2006, the music school held an audition requested by Kitty records, Haruna, Mami, Tomomi, and Rina were the finalists. They originally picked the name 'girlsband' before settling on Scandal as the band's name.

Scandal released a few singles for indie record label Kitty records under Tower entertainment starting with "Space Ranger" and ending with their first mini-Album " Yah! Yah! Yah! Hello Scandal: Maido! Scandal Desu! Yah Yah Yah!".

In 2018 Scandal made they major record label debut under Epic records Japan with their single "Doll"

I hate Sony Music Japan

First, SCANDAL had to reupload all their MVs in 2018 because Sony had their MVs blocked everywhere but in Japan.

Now they blocked again the international upload of Departure everywhere but in 3 countries.

for example

Doll is under Sony music channel

CuTe is under some random channel

Pinheel surfer is also on 2 weird channels with almost no views 1 and 2

Scandal in the house is on a random channel.

Scandal Baby is also on a random channel.

Living in the city is fan made, their channel only has a short version.
