Sarcasm

I don 't know tbh as I haven't had much to do with you but frankly I don't like sarcastic people that always have to have a comeback reply to everything, and sometimes I have trouble deciphering what is serious and what's just joking around.

You can only be sarcastic with people you're close to.

In a way, no. Especially on the internet where people may read too much into stuff.

The consequences of using sarcasm with someone you're not close to are like NCT: limitless.

It’s really difficult to tell the difference between sarcasm and seriousness to be honest, especially over the internet. Even if you’re saying something jokingly, I think it’s best if you clarify what you meant if someone takes it seriously.

Sarcasm can be tricky online. What one person is able to immediately identify as sarcasm, another might not because they've been told the same thing in a serious, non-sarcastic manner by somebody else.

And like most jokes, it requires context.

I also sometimes ignore sarcasm on purpose, because the sarcastic comment brought up something I wanted to address. So while I might be aware of the sarcasm, I don't necessarily acknowledge it.
