SM really debuted EXO and then benched them for 13 months

Like EXOL have literally never been that fandom that got continuous content or excess of content right from the beginning.

It really set the tone. Kek.

New groups these days debut and get multiple comebacks within a year. Eye-

I would have literally rioted if I was an EXOL in 2012.

And then tragic 2014 year happened and they didn’t even release a full album that year.

There were only 4 years in their entire career that EXO released content properly (and mind you this isn’t like extra content like variety or vlive or any of that fun stuff) They released an Album, a Repack and and winter Album.

Anyway I was just thinking back. Because someone was saying SM shifted their focus from EXO and I was just wondering when exo was even the focus for SM

Lots of ppl love to say exo is successful because of SM I like to say EXO was successful DESPITE being from SM

No it’s that EXO barely ever got anything from the start. It’s not about debuting new groups and forgetting old. They went on hiatus right after debut lololol. Anyway a lot happened. Some because of SM and others because of members leaving etc etc

Hiatus does not build hype of BGs. In fact that was the biggest mistake SM did even if we leave out that debut blunder the one esp between The War and DMUMT and then between DMUMT and obsession were awful. As we can see they changed that tactic with their next group because they realized the industry thrusts content for BGs to build hype.
