A pick me boy is more a simp, someone who would do everything for a women, even if they ain’t gaining anything from it. The always friend-zoned. Someone who hangs out more with women than with their peers. They would also say things like “I’m not like other guys” , but they ain’t really manipulative. They are as well seeking for validation by the other gender and therefore mocked by other guys.

when i was a teenager i thought i was superior for not listening to pop and not wearing makeup and enjoying feminine things like the "other girls" because young girls are taught that femininity is a bad thing and it's messed up

I had basically the same experience growing up.

But I was actually avoiding being harassed.

The closer you are to femininity as a teen, the closer is the possibility of being harassed by some weirdo, so I was extremely not careful about my appearance and being feminine.

Many people assumed I was an extra religious person for years and I'm far from religious lol
