Why do people stan untalented idols?

    If your bias is not a good singer, rapper, dancer then why do you stan them? What do they offer to entertain you? Do you just look at their photos or watch their variety clips and call it a day?

    Also, no idol is talentless. Every idol is pretty good with at least one idol skill.

    Even if they're a below average or average dancer, that doesn't mean their fancams aren't cool to watch.

    Because of their visuals or sometimes because of their variety skills

    Idols don't have to be that talented, they can be likable still within a group if their personality is good, some people go for visuals, or if they're still hardworking despite falling a bit behind. It really depends on the attitude of the idol.

    "because of their personality" is the most ridiculous excuse ever. We have no way of knowing what percentage of idols' personalities are real. You're basically stanning a company's product that's deliberately tuned to please people.


    Also there are indeed many untalented idols. Knowing how to follow a choreography or syringing 5 words together on tune is not a talent.

    Being talented is when you're like Kyuhyun, Taeyeon, G-Dragon, Soyeon, Taemin, Haechan, Baekhyun, RM etc. Those are genuinely talented people who excel at their craft by any standards.

    just because one doesn't find someone talented doesn't mean other people won't

    Kpop isn't all about talent though. I mean groups have like 10 members but only 1 or 2 are good singers so what's the point of the rest? Then when those other 8 are among the most popular because of things other than their talent (looks, personality etc) then it's obvious talent isn't what most kpop fans are into.


    You just have to look at the top groups like BTS, black pink and Twice. LBH fans aren't staning because their faves are the best singers in kpop...

    Kpop is predominantly about the visuals and it's in your face about it talent stans will have to cope with this.

    first of all taehyung is a good singer he may be not the best but he's better that all of these people you mentioned here by miles he's the second best in bts, his stans love his voice and support his music, ans if you're actually interested i can link you some songs he personally wrote, composed produced that proves that yes he's musically talnted

    and if taehyung isn't talnted that 95% of kpop idols are not

    He didn't produce any songs, he worked on them with other professional producers, that skill is a dime a dozen in kpop. And being the 2nd best in a narrow selection with already low standards doesn't make you a talented singer. I have watched enough from him to realise he's the epitome of overhyped visual where most fans just don't want to admit they stan him for his visuals so they overhype the hell out of his mediocre skills. He was selected as a trainee and later as a member purely for his visuals and nothing more, any improvement he had afterward was something natural that all kpop visuals (the ones that were untalented at debut) go through.

    Compare him to "the 2nd best" vocalist in other groups like EXO, Seventeen, NCT, Red Velvet, Mamamoo etc and you'll see how insignificant this label is.

    There's a lot of not only untalented idols, but also some who are as ugly as a donkey and I don't understand why people even like them. Probably desperate and thirsty honestly

    I don't get rappers who are labelled as just rappers with no writing, singing or dancing capabilities. :pepewhat:

    I think v is the 4th best vocalist in bts and he isn't in the top 5% most talented kpop idol lol.the other members like the rapline,jimin and jungkook then prob yes but not v lol.

    about Jin and Taehyung, since I'm an Army (and OP mentioned them):


    One of my reasons of stanning BTS is that I think each BTS member complements each other very well.

    3 rappers and 4 singers with different styles and voices.

    and when they sing/harmonize together, it sounds so good.

    each member brings something to the group musically, including Jin and Taehyung.

    of course, this is subjective, but some people do stan BTS because of their music,

    and stan their members because they are talented. :)

    He's a great performer and a good vocalist for his fans. Stop speaking for his fans.


    Lots of idols are overhyped by their fans when the best emotion they bring out in me is cringe when I see them perform. Doesn't mean that their fans don't see gold where I see trash.

    actually i have watched enough from kpop in general to know that all of idols are severally overhyped even the one in the groups you mentioned who are considered the epitome of talent so ?

    "he work on them with professional producers" isn't that what all people do ? no one produce a full song by themselves anymore, not even the rap line and that doesn't take anything from his input in the music he makes, try listening to snow flower, we he and his friend make it all by themselves, i would like to see the musically talnted people you mention from these groups do that at least, and again his fans stan his for his talents not visual so stop speaking for them

    How are you going to say the girl with a perfect pitch, who plays the piano and has done numerous covers on it and that has choreographed for her group that she is not musically talented?

    i'm not denying that but the fact the these users are generalising all his fans is simply wrong, plus i don't care if y'all agree or not but he's more than "pretty face"
