Blocking users who constantly post negative comments under news articles

Well, there is a considerable amount of users who only deliberately post vile and disgusting comments under all the news articles yet many of them are never banned even though they have accumulated a huge number of downvotes and are constantly reported. For the sake of my sanity, I am wondering if I can just block these users so that I don't have to stumble upon their comments in every single news article. I have tried to block them here in the forums but I figured that it does not translate to the main news site. Any help/insight on this will be appreciated. Thank you!

I don't think you can block them and unfortunately no mods monitor the news page. LiKE I HAVE SAID EARLIER, I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO REPORT TO YOU GUYS(MODS) TOXIC USERS ON THE HOME PAGE.

This is a huge problem that needs to be addressed, especially with the amount of people on the news section.

Tbh the news section is a dumpster fire. It's either a bot that spams random shit or users deliberately controversial topics about race, gender, religion to with an agenda rather than simply posting news.

I avoid the comments like the plague. I don't why anyone would engage.

I don't even look in the news section. Either someone is posting weird propaganda or someone is saying some weird shit.

I hardly ever visit the new section...only if it's related to something linked from here

There’s nothing you can do unfortunately. Some of the comments are unsavoury but they’re usually from banned users. There’s also the ones who delight in downvoting even the positive comments. I only post on articles that are of interest or relevance to me.

oh you mean if someone posts on a news story? why is that not a thing?
