There is no such thing as "4th gen records"

Personally, it doesn’t bother me. My groups are mostly third Gen, so I don’t have any dogs in this fight. (WayV is 4th Gen but I don’t think they’re really any of these convos anyway, bless them.)

I think it’s a way of trying to set some context for a group’s performance - I get that they’re trying to make an apples to apples comparison as much as possible. Rather than compare yourself to a group who debuted six years ago with multiple albums and 30 singles, you’re trying to look at other groups like yourself who debuted two years ago with one album and two minis to your name to draw a more appropriate parallel.
