Why did you become a Kpop stan outside of the groups and idols?

Does not apply to all of K-pop.

Because I found the musicality that, for me, was missing from the mainstream American pop. There's something about the current American pop scene that, except for a few acts, bothers me.

I was also tired of listening to the same songs I had been listening to for years.

I became a fan through my daughter so she was the one who got me into it, not me. I followed it for many years as I found it better than mainstream which is mostly crap imo.

Well I liked the music, lets just say I don't like any Indian nor American songs anymore except a few.

I love Britney-era pop too as well as highly choreographed performances, so when I came across miss A, SNSD, etc for the first time

I didn't choose kpop, I feel that it chose me. lmao

I like the music because of the mix of different genres

Jpop introduced me to Kpop

My cousin told me to Stan K-pop ...
My cousin's friend told her to Stan K- pop

It was a chain reaction.

To make a long story short..... Friends took me to a 2NE1 Live concert. I've been hooked since then.

I like that it's more than just music, which ironically, is same exact thing I hate about it. It's why at the same time I wouldn't label myself a Kpop fan but at the same time may indulge in fandom activities from time to time. As it is now, I haven't officially been a fan of any group in over two years and have extream difficulty getting into Kpop groups. And no, I'm not counting Iz*One, I stanned them officially for maybe a year and now I am just a casual. It's not their fault they're about as intersting as Kpop gets these days along with a few others like Aespa or lightsum.

The music, the choreography, the reality shows, the variety shows, the collectivity that it brings to groups of people... I really like it, but I hate how people go too far and lose themselves in it.

I love Korean ballads a lot.
