The bitter truth is that a majority of people who get plastic surgery have low self confidence or feel insecure of what they are changing. Idol would never admit it but that's probably the case for them.

Maybe because they are forced to fit into Korean standards ? Hwasa gets bashed a lot for her looks and many other idols have been been through something similar. For example, Jihyo was known as the visual black hole of twice for a while

THERES A WHOLE ASS STUDY , RESEARCH, INVENTIONS DONE ON THE TOPIC SURGERIES, THERES TEAM OF DOCTORS AND RESEARCHERS. DONT MAKE IT SOUND SOMETHING BAD.

either way it's still a choice...
