STAYC covers Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More". Girls kept explicit lyrics

  • When a 23 year old has sex with a 17 year old, his excuse can't be "but they were days away from being 18"

This is something completely different ,this is criminal. A minor can have sex if they reached the age of consent, but as an adult it’s forbidden to have sex with a minor. Of course you can’t use that excuse.

Performing a Song like this being above 16 isn’t illegal. It’s not even that explicit… there are far worse Songs.

But yeah everyone has a different view on this. For me it’s just them performing a Song they like.

  • Damn, its good to know you don't see anything slightly wrong in this.

And i didn't experience my first time in highschool. So there is no we in this.

    Ok then. Go on.

do you not know how bad that sounds??

The thing is here in Europe in most countries we become adults when we hit 18, and in terms of any illegal activity we might be treated as adults when we are 16 or 17 (depends on country).

I'm not encouraging anything, just comparing to the world I know.

  • Age of consent isnt set in stone. In my state, anyone can have sex with a 17 year old or even a 16 year old.

ETA: Hell, it was actually 14 back in the day.

As for the song and StayC singing it, when did it become wrong for teenagers to talk/sing/rap about having sex? People have sex when they're 12 ffs, as long as its not some gross ass adult committing statutory rape, what's wrong with it?

  • I love this cover!

But I can still understand why some people are uncomfortable about minors singing these lyrics publicly.

  • while watching i found the cursing and sexual lyrics funny, but then i remembered the age of the members and it became a bit uncomfortable

  • god i love all the people in this thread that are acting intentionally dense and like they see no harm in underage girls singing explicitly about sex, please think critically for 2 seconds

Wut? We've had literally billions of movies, tv shows, songs, novels, stories, etc which included teens talking about sex, or literally even having sex either implicitly or explicitly on camera.

My favorite teen drama show was Buffy. She had sex with vampire Angel at 16 years old. An entire storyline (epic storyline actually) was built around this. Buffy was one of the most acclaimed shows on television.

I don't think there is a sense of explain it to few people here like that...

some people here will just think like Knetz that kpop idols should be 110% ideal role models,

and by the way between us two I think it's better for high schoolers to talk about sex, even between themselves. Because some through this way might learn that sometimes it's better to wait with it, or that it's not that scary when you are in lovely relationship etc.

It's just all about point of view. and it's even funnier because by Korean age both Sumin and Sieun probably say they are 22 years old... and Isa and Seeun also already are an adults.

and most countries you are an adult when you are 18/19.

So anyone complaining about maknae line saying this or that is just exagerrating.

The thing is, they ain’t underage like under 16, they above that and closer to adulthood.

Like I said the minors are 17… so if they are now 18, are they mentally suddenly mature enough to touch topics like that ?

Critical thinking should start with what is allowed and when. A minor is not just a minor, they are split in age Groups ,which means different rules and responsibilities, personally and legally. If you talk about minors it’s important to know their age.

They didn’t perform in revealing clothes, nor was the choreography sexual, nor did they performed this in front of men in an inappropriate environment. So they still moved in an area where it’s acceptable for me.

I don’t think People are intentionally dense here, I’m pretty sure the reaction would have been different if these minors were under 16 or their outfits and choreography was sexual, including me.

  • Its a cover, so chill, do you really wanna go all crazy just because of one cover song? Seriously between the fans that like this cover and the ones that don't, I know they all agree it would be good if this is only a one time thing(or a few, but not permanent) K-pop still needs to be different.
High Up is not some backyard music company, they must've discuss it with the members and their families, and please don't set your bar too low on their English education.
I understand with their cute and adorable image you might been mislead into believing that these girls need to be protected, but they are actually professional performer/artists, who is smart, disciplined and much more matured than you might think.

This is BEP we're talking about here, they're not some rookie CEO from a corporate company, they almost single-handedly brought TWICE to fame with their songs. To put it simply, they're a season player in the music industry and everything they do have been carefully thought out. Almost all Swith(international and K-nets who are open minded) knows this cover is actually an answer for the people involved in the recent controversy.
