the video is definitely leaning towards how teen fangirls view blackpink. she made a few good points but I don't think even half of the fandom is like this. some of us are genuinely here for the music and performances. the visuals and fashion are just a bonus imo.

why is it that female idols appeal must always be "their fans want to be them or be with them" why can people never admit female idol's appeal is their talent and charm?

I think the self insert theory doesn't fit for blackpink because their image is faaaar from the stereotypically shy, awkward and wallflower like y/n.

I feel in fanfics Blackpink are more likely to be the popular and pretty antagonists than y/n. Media brainwash thinks women being pretty and popular=a terrible person.

In romcoms you've gotta be an insecure plain girl or tomboy till the makeover scene and bam your beautiful but ukw in the you don't know your beautiful kinda way. The end product is either wifey/gf material or the "cool girl". Its really sad that we actually grew up on this bs T.T
