random question: eating in public transport

I ate oreos on the bus, no one minded

I would not eat in either location unless I absolutely had to (like for long distance travel by train or bus). Normal short distance commuter train or bus, no, I would not eat there. It can wait.

probably because on the bus its a bit more wobbly, food can more easily fly? idk mate.

technically there are rules even on public transport here in Australia that says one shouldn't eat on public transport but each country differs

because trains and buses are used for long distance trips and it's expected to get hungry at some point; there are no stations they just go straight from point a to point b, plus everyone sits there. they are cleaned after the ride.

in public transportation people both sit and stand, there are gazillion stations and have to make stops every two minutes. If a person eats and makes a mess on their sit or underneath it who's going to clean it? another person should take a sit after them. or if both passengers stand, you don't want your eating to mess up their clothes

Tbh...Public transport is disgusting enough without adding spilled drinks, mayonnaise and various sandwich and pizza slice toppings to the list of things you have to worry about finding on your seat.

I don't like eating on public transport because everyone is looking at me.
