Beat switches can be a good thing if both are on point. There is a difference if it's used to compensate for a video or MV that gets less interesting during the same viewing session and when it switches to another beat that is just as strong or more aggressive to take it to an even higher level.
We will see how it turns out. Two of their songs sound like video game music so far. Only the songs aren't bigger than the game it would be played in, if you understand what I mean.
For instance, KD/A's music isn't dope enough to stand outside of League of Legends. Nobody is blasting that out on the streets. SME has producers in their contacts who are talented enough to create music that is cooler than any game it would be associated with.

You can say there is a lot of interest, and hype, for a group with 3 songs out. If you mute all that noise, realistically, SME hasn't given the group a smash yet. If their first song sounded like a strong international smash and they followed up with the "Forever" remake, I think that would have been good momentum coming into some kind of title track for an album.
At least for me, I'm waiting for SME to come with a proper BIG-3 smash for Aespa. They have worked with American producers who actually set trends, so what's really the problem? Partner up with them properly and Aespa can have songs that are internationally strong.
BTS and Blackpink are known in my neck of the woods, but so far, only Blackpink is getting blasted in random cars. All that could change if SME gets the right material at least for Aespa's album cuts. They can keep pushing the basic songs as title tracks if they want. Almost anything that isn't a ballad can top the charts.
If some of the album tracks are the quality of Ariana Grande's "NASA" and Doja Cat's "Streets", that would be cool. I actually would blast them too. Not many female groups I can think of are doing a contemporary R'N'B sound, like these tracks, that well in K-Pop. Add 2, 3, and 4-part harmonies to that, because SME teaches everybody how to hold a note, and you have the start of a distinct lane for Aespa's non-title track catalog in K-Pop. It's not rocket science.
i love your mind
