Yes, all the groups on Kingdom are more popular than Pentagon. Pentagon doesn't have a single album that passes 100K sales and no hits. Apart from Shine their Youtube views are also low compared to the other Kingdom contestants. The only one close to them is SF9 and they have Chani and Rowoon who are mildly successful actors in Korea

I think generally they are less popular than Kingdom group yes (except for SF9 imo). But SF9 was invited to participate in RTK and turned them down I think.
But when Road to Kingdom started they were the only group I knew from there, I started watching because of them (I think they were the only one to have general recognition), but I soon became The Boyz fan, since their performances stuned me and I had to look into them, which made me like them even more.
I'm now familiar with all of RTK groups, so I feel like even though it was tough on everyone, everyone gained a lot more of recognition.
