I think traditional girl crush were from 2nd gen ( 4 minute, 2ne1 etc) they were more bad ass and fierce.

I do agree with the bold part. BP’s image of girl crush is more of the IT girl vibe. I also agree that the 2nd gen’s concept is more traditional. But I still think in the way they sound or their music, BP sounds like traditional girl crush- badass, a little bit quirky compared to ITZY’s loud, energetic sound.

I think JYP just try to create thiers Blackpink with catchy sound like he did with twice and snsd. There is nothing original come from JYP these day.

SM also try to create thiers BTS and Blackpink with weird noise music too.

people have really been trying to use Mafia as an excuse to say Itzy have been copying BP's sound. Before Mafia, i never once had that thought. And even with Mafia, I don't think it's too heavily influenced by BP. My first thoughts were it sounded like a boy group song with all the rapping and what seemed like disjointedness at first. When Itzy first came out, their sound was so unique and new, a lot of people automatically hated it. Same with Icy. Itzy has always had their own type of sound. Bp doesn't always have to be involved in every kpop story.
