Like I predicted, this was going to be ITZY’s least successful cb with the public
Personally I thought the song was average, so I imagine knetz like it even less. It has some interest parts but I think there’s a bigger issue than just the song.
ITZY’s strength is in their performance abilities. But skill is just one part of the formula. The idols need to match and embrace the concept they are doing. Even in the MV I could sense the the members weren’t digging Mafia.
Yuna and Ryujin try but they aren’t fully connecting to the song/concept either. So the overall result feels forced, cringe, muted. No spark at all, unlike what was present in Dalla Dalla.
Forced ‘maturity’ and trying ‘unique’ just to do something different ain’t going to help much. I think JYP has to let the members open up more and do a cb based on their own vibe, rather than molding them into something that doesn’t fit them.
